About Lisa
Hello there!
My name is Lisa and I believe that we are all given gifts to share them with others.
That's why I teach.
I'm a multilingual percussionist and health and harmony seeker; I've taught French, Spanish and ESL for many years in several parts of the world. I've also studied, played and tutored traditional Ghanaan and Malinke percussion for almost 10 years and have acquired strong polyrhythmic foundation.
I love and can teach the art of Calligraphy, including mainly French and Arabic calligraphy.
I earned a BA in Linguistics from UC Berkeley and have acquired and developed a lot more academic skills that I'd be happy to transmit (see my list of subjects).
I'm also a mother of 2 little boys and a little girl, 5 and 2 years old and a 9 months old- my real full time job these days! I still do my best to remember to take a brea
k and breathe to become a better human being through meditation I'd be happy to teach you what I know.
My motto: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, HUMBLY HONOR YOUR MISTAKES AS TEACHERS AND TRULY BELIEVE IN YOUR ABILITIES.
Very much looking forward to meeting you!

I am very pleased with my online lessons with Lisa. She is fluent in both French and English. Her depth of language understanding and her skill in teaching come through clearly in all sessions.. Lisa is comfortable to work with. She stays on task with the basics, which I asked for, and she is also able to move in directions which I suggest based on my current interests. Beyond all this, I sense that she is a very good person who is "present" during the sessions.l Highly recommended.

Marshall is the best instructor of music. He teaches music passionately and teaches exactly what anyone wants/needs. If you have trouble in music theory as well, Marshall would explain step by step and make sure you learn it before he moves on to a new lesson. I highly recommend Marshall because I have learned tons so far.

About Rose
Hello, I am Rose from Antioch. Well, I am originally from France. I've just been imported by my sweet husband Jeff in March 2017.

I teach French and sewing and even sewing in French if you want ! That's ideal if you want to go on an internship or even work in the fashion industry in Paris !

To tell you more about my passion for sewing, I believe I must just have been born with the talent of sewing. I remember my mom running after me as she was scared that I would pock my eyes with her needles... Already at that age I was stuck to the TV obsessed with the Parisian fashion shows at each fashion seasons. But you know what ?

Interestingly enough I am not so much into fashion anymore because I have discovered the importance of wearing the right type of clothing specifically made for each of us. You know, sewing clothing stays the same
whether we are into fashion or not, it really doesn't matter. I'd be happy to share more about that with you.
I also enjoy sewing house items and I like to figure out easy and fast ways to sew these items as well as clothing for children.

I'd be happy to meet you at your house or in mine or online, as you wish.
If you are looking to gain basic sewing skills fast then you found the right person because I have created a course that is specifically designed for that. First we'll learn everything about your sewing machine. Then you will be able to learn how to draw a pattern to cover a book of your choice, sew a zip, buttons, a sewing bag, a simple pin cushion and a little dress that includes pockets as well as bias binding on the armholes. At the end of this few weeks course together you will receive videos of the whole course that you will be able to watch over and over for free as you keep perfecting your new skill. The only thing is that these videos are still in French ;-) My French students have shared with me how happy they were with the details of that course.

And just with these basics you will be able to sew hundreds of items ! Isn't that cool !? Plus, to make it easier for you, I have prepared all the supplies for you in a kit for an extra cost. Ask me about it.

If we meet in person, a minimum of 2 hours per session usually works best.
As for online teaching I have a very good webcam that shows great close up details.
