I graduated from the Meisner technique in October after studying for 2 years with Kevin Phipps from the Artist Box.
Students will start off with basic repetitions and emotion/action identification. This helps the actor to get over their many instinctual walls and filters they have digested over the years and be affected by/affect others. They will then progress to activities and prepping seeds of truth as well as imaginary circumstances. The goal is to find out what helps them prepare emotionally for a role while simultaneously being able to be in the moment and authentically respond to others in the scene.
