Experience Singing Lessons in Irvine!
By Amber C. - Irvine Singing Teacher
My name is Amber C. and I teach voice lessons in Irvine, CA! Families are drawn to this city for its exceptional school systems, low crime, high diversity, and many cultural attractions. It’s a wonderful place to learn to sing!
This city has abundant opportunities in pursuing your musical education. Whether you are interested in perfecting your voice or starting from scratch, don’t hesitate to get started with singing lessons in Irvine. Take the first step and get inspired by going to live shows!
There is quite a variety of performances at many venues throughout Orange County. You can experience everything from classical and opera, to jazz and pop, to rock and roll! Here are a few of my favorite examples:
Irvine Barclay Theater is located off of the University of California, Irvine campus. It has a reputation for wide-ranging programming in music including classical, pop, folk/traditional, and jazz genres. Performances take place in Cheng Hall, which seats around 800 people and is celebrated for its intimate atmosphere and top-quality acoustics. Check it out: http://thebarclay.org
Soka University's beautiful Soka Performing Arts Center is newly opened. The Soka Performing Arts Center is also an exceptional theatre which features acoustics by Yasuhisa Toyota, designer of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and other world-class venues. There are always great performances being scheduled. Some past vocal performances have included the South Coast Singers, a vocal group consisting of 50 singers, soloists, and instrumentalists, and the All-American Boys Chorus, the only boys’ chorus in southern California. For a taste of opera, soprano Mariangela Spotorno has been featured, and for jazz lovers, vocalist Jackie Ryan has performed there during their fall jazz festival. You can even become a member or buy a subscription series or get on their mailing list. That way you won’t miss any of the performances! Go to www.performingarts.soka.edu for a schedule of the upcoming performances!
It is entertaining and educational to see live performances. Vocal students can learn a lot about performance by observing and listening to professionals. For example, I am always inspired when I see singers performing in person. I especially like to hear their unique interpretation and arrangement of well-known songs. It’s fun to hear the differences when they take a song that is usually sung up-tempo and sing it as a ballad, or vice versa.
There are so many benefits to singing! It can help to improve physical and mental health, reduce stress, and create an emotional outlet and means of self-expression. Check out the many teachers that offer singing lessons in Irvine, and start hitting the open mic and karaoke nights- it’s time to incorporate singing into your life!
