It’s especially important to attend events that showcase different music genres.
Utah is home to many excellent performing arts venues. Professional singers and performers share their talents throughout Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas. At these events, you can experience each style of music and the different nuances that each style has to offer.
If you’re studying musical theater, there are lots of theaters in your area that offer professional productions. The Hale Center Theatres in West Valley and Orem offer spectacular musical theatre productions that will entertain and enlighten you as an aspiring singer. You will hear excellent vocal technique and get a taste of what it really takes to make it in the professional world.
Some other places you should check out are the Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, the Tuachan Amphitheater in Ivins, the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, and the Neil Simon Festival at the famous Heritage Theater.

Local karaoke nights are the best place to practice your performance skills without the pressure of performing in a professional show. Check out the Karaoke Cafe in Murray, Wing Nutz in Orem, The Tavernacle Social club in Salt Lake City, and Mt. Fuji Sushi Bar in Sandy. You might want to check and see if any of your local cafes or restaurants offer weekly karaoke nights. It’s always a fun and friendly atmosphere to practice your skills.
