I can teach from beginner to advanced. Multi styles with emphasis on chord and rhythm playing, improvisation, music reading and musicianship. My stylistic specialties include Blues, Classic Rock, R & B, Country and Jazz. My goal is to teach my students the fundamentals of the instrument as it relates to music, how to play the music they hear in their heads and to be the best they can be.

Robert is very nice and polite. I think the lesson was sufficient for the first lesson. He gave me homework to work on the D, G, and C chords. We went over the right hand numbering PIMA. I need to determine what my goals are in playing the guitar.

I am very happy with my guitar lesson with Mr. Calva. He is very knowledgeable and very patient. He found out my musical background and goals. He used that to structure my lessons today. He then gave me homework, tips, and short term goals. I am super pleased with his style of teaching. By the way, I am 50 years young...

I very much like but not take it seriously with an American way of learning skills by just having fun lessons without committed practice. I trust in every child’s sense of understanding and smart motivation.
Russian school of teaching piano is traditionally the best due to centuries of polishing teaching skills by greatest musicians and teachers. We strive to master both technique and artistry. However, in reality, to achieve this might be a challenge. A fun makes it better. I use a combined American and Russian approach. To help students keep progressing, balancing between hard work and fun attitude, between technical skills and artistically emotional performance is my philosophy and passion.

Ms. Alty is a very patient yet thorough piano teacher. Since we left our hometown for Houston, it's been really difficult getting a piano teacher that matches the same talent as our previous teacher. We had gone through 4 teachers in Houston. However finding Ms. Alty was like finding a rare gem at the top of the mountain.
She is very knowledgeable and has the skills to get a child to listen and actually want to practice. My children have improved tremendously and actually started playing more complicated musical piece.
My children love Ms. Alty and always look forward to having their piano class. I would recommend Ms. Alty if you're looking for a very musically knowledgeable and talented piano teacher who is both firm and gentle when teaching,

My lesson plans are designed to be musical and fun. I want my students to understand the language of the music by studying their favorite bands and understanding the theory behind it. I have a strategy for everyone starting from beginner, intermediate, to advanced. I remember picking up a guitar for the first time and what a struggle it was to play my favorite songs. There is a method for achieving these goals and it is different for everyone. The one thing that will allow you to succeed is having a desire to learn and a passion for music. If you have those two things then I can direct you to the right path to achieve your musical goals!

So my son is having a great time with Jason who has a great way of giving feedback and steering Cody using a balance of instructions and positive feedback. Cody is definitely enjoying his lessons and I am seeing real progress. I feel like I did the right thing investing in these lessons and giving Cody a great summer with a wonderful instructor. "Boris was a fantastic painting teacher -- knowledgeable, personable, and professional. He was very communicative before the lesson regarding the topic, materials, and timing. Doing an in-home lesson was convenient and made the experience even more memorable. We especially appreciated the convenience of him bringing most of the supplies, while offering the option for us to provide them ourselves for cost savings and to continue painting afterward.

Upon arrival he asked great questions to understand our level of experience with acrylic painting, and walked us through tutorials on techniques before we started the main topic. Then during the lesson he was patient and adaptable as my girlfriend and I expressed our individual art styles. Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing way to expand their skills and experiences."
