Project Genesis 57: Pharaoh Gets 1/5, but Sadly It's Not Whiskey

James's instruction of the Bible as literature provided an in-depth, high-quality reframing of concepts that expanded upon my prior knowledge and allowed me to approach the Bible with more appreciation of its historical and cultural contexts, as well as its complex relationship with history. Each class discussion was rich and engaging, especially when discussing character and theme interpretations. James structured the assignments in ways that built on textbook readings and invited us to more deeply explore the literary concepts found throughout the book, reflecting them with modern-day ideas and events to better understand their relevance and significance in both their own times and ours.

This was such a lovely, informative course to have the privilege of participating in. It was, by far, one of my favorite courses that I've ever taken! I loved how open Mr. Bower was to discussing and hearing his student's opinions on whatever course material we were covering at the moment. It made our class meetings feel like a collaborative space where we could all freely discuss the topic and learn. I also thoroughly appreciated how creative the assignments were; it's obvious that a great deal of work went into planning them. They were also so much fun to complete, and the feedback provided was always useful. If you're looking for an instructor who provides a unique, engaging, and fun learning experience, Mr. Bower is the best choice by a mile!
