​My name is Stephanie, owner of Dance Well and I can't wait to meet you! 
Operating out of New York City, Dance Well is a dance lesson service available to work with you before your wedding day. Get dance floor-ready and feel good while doing it with this expert company. 

I have worked with over 1,800 wedding couples and over 500 people since 2008 and am well-versed in various dance styles and techniques. We will adapt moves to suit the individual, ensuring they feel comfortable when grooving to their first dance on their special day. Regardless of your song and dance goals for your once-in-a-lifetime event, I ensure you are confident and successful in your quest. 

Dance Well NY offers introductory classes for those getting married as well as those looking to find fitness in a different format 
The instructor talks you through various dance style options during the course. After, a game plan is set up Stephanie will make sure you are ready and able to dance whatever whenever. Packages of 5 and 10 lessons are typically offered; however, the teachers can also accommodate last-minute requests. Custom packages are also available and are designed to suit your dance level, and schedule, leaving you nothing to worry about once you hit that floor.

Stephanie is an absolute pleasure to learn from. She is kind and competent and will very quickly have you at a level where you can comfortably dance on your own.

She is a genuinely nice person and takes the time to learn the way that you learn so that she can teach you in a manner best suited to the way you learn. I had so much fun in my first few lessons with Stephanie leading up to a trip where I wanted to be able to do some swing dancing with friends. On the first day I briefly outlined my objectives with her and over the next handful of lessons we achieved them all. I am so happy to I decided to move forward with Stephanie and look forward to being her student for a long time!

Stephanie is amazing.  She is so sweet and patient and  I highly recommend her and her class.  She is very talented and knowledgeable for the advanced dancer and she also explains and demonstrates the dance steps in an easy to understand way for complete beginners like myself.

Phenomenal teacher!!! Very patient, kind, and thoughtful...really helped me understand how to become a better dancer. Superb!

I consider myself very fortunate that I met Stephanie some years ago. As we started working together my skills started to improve. I have long realized it takes me more time to develop than other students. After working with Stephanie, eventually I was able to start social dancing. Eventually, we also worked together on performance classes with other students. These were all wonderful experiences for me. Stephanie is very dedicated and passionate about dance. She is very attentive to detail. I highly recommend Stephanie!

I have known Stephanie for a few years now and she is a great teacher and dancer. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I would really recommend taking lessons with her. She will push you to do your best and make you a great dancer!

I had so much fun preparing a mother-son dance with Stephanie for a wedding reception that my husband and I signed up for a series just for fun.  Stephanie is an excellent instructor.

In this video I break down the jazz steps that come at the end of our shim sham: Boogie forward, boogie back and the Shorty George.

In this section we work on balance and coordination.  If you know a little bit of tap then this will probably come easy to you.  I show you different ways of practicing the step and again, practice at a slow pace at first and then go faster as you start to feel comfortable with the movement.

Shim Sham - Section 4: Half Break

In this section of the Shim Sham we work on a rhythm hold and change.  I pick up from the end of the Push It & You Crossover section.  You are crossed on 6 with your left foot and hold 7 ....

Shim Sham - Section 3: Tacky Annie

In this video I go over the second section of the Shim Sham.
Here we work on the movement, sway and proper weight changes.  I go between counting the steps out in numbers and then in the "call out" way which is known all over the world ....

 Shim Sham - Section 2: The Push It and Cross Overs

In this short video I teach the slides and the break step.
The break step comes after the slides, after the Tacky Annie, and after each of the half break steps.
There is no music .... just repeat over and over again at different speeds and you will be ready for the last section which will have different speeds of music and styling.
