This is the breakdown of the beginning of the piece that I'm choreographing. I'm demonstrating how to execute the movements in the first video.. The next two videos that I'm going to post will be a continuation of the choreography. One is just me doing the combination and the next video is the breakdown. When I'm finished choreographing the piece, I will be posting the final dance and the breakdown. Hopefully I'll have all of it completed really soon.  Hope you enjoy learning this piece!!

Dance Choreography

I started training as a dancer when I was in my twenties. I trained in the styles of Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, and ballet. I started teaching dance in 1999 to children and teens. My training was influenced by the disciplines from Limon and Horton dance. I would say that I'm a lyrical Comtemporary/Modern Dancer and my choreography reflects this. 
I obtained my Bachelors in Performing Arts from Saint Mary's College of California and I was Artistic Director from 2003-2005 for Envisions Dance and Theatre in Berkeley, California. I have taught Childrens Dance at many schools throughout the Bay Area and have performed as a soloist and with many amazings dancers and companies from the Bay Area to Santa Fe, New Mexico. 
My mission and my goal as a dance teacher is to give all my students of all ages the skills and the tools they need to become a well rounded dancer. I place great importance on the fundamental principles for technical efficiency, injury prevention, musicality, aesthetics, and the path to discovering creativity and self expression.
I hope to bring the joy of dance into your lives. 
I live in Chico, California and can teach privates in person or a class if you have friends that would also enjoy having a class in Contemporary, Modern, and Jazz at a Professional Studio here in Chico. 
  I just started posting an Intermediate Contemporary/Modern Choreography in Live Studio and along with the choreography is the breakdown to learning how to execute the movements. 
   I will also be posting Warm-ups and Across the floor patterns for beginning and intermediate levels in the near future. My warm-ups are Modern Dance based warm-ups. Some of my warm-up work is a from Horton technique and Limon technique. Check out some of my work. Always feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Taught childrens dance throughout the East Bay at  Recreation Centers for diverse socio economic communities. And taught workshops in an Artist in Residency Program at Public Schools in Oakland. I also taught  Modern dance in Santa Fe, New Mexico from 2011 to 2016 to teens and adults at a professional dance studio.

This is your time to shine. Be as detailed as possible 
You will be learning how the dance styles of Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical can be integrated into choreography.While learning choreography and dance technique, I place great importance on dance injury prevention and give you the tools for exploring self-expression and creativity. My teaching style comes from years of dance training that incorporates the principles of Somatics which is a wholistic and organic way of training your body to find ease, breath, strength, and flexibility. I also teach beginning dance to children and have twenty plus years working with all ages. From ages 5 to teens and adults. Come and have fun learning and growing as a dancer.

Rose was great! It was my daughter’s junior year in high school and wanted to learn Ballroom dancing and there it was where we met Rose. She did a wonderful job!
You ask her to teach a particular part of dance and she goes out of her way to teach it. We appreciate Rose and recommend anyone that wants to learn dance!

Rose was kind, knowledgeable, creative and excited about teaching her choreography.

Rose has a beautiful fluid movement and expression. I attended her modern class and the choreography allowed me to find that fluidity, especially on the floor where I wasn't practiced. I would take her class again if lived near her!

An across the floor Modern Jazz combination. The song is "For the Lover in You" performed by LL Cool J and Howard Hewett. There isn't a second video that breaks down the movement. I accidently deleted it and haven't had the chance to do another one right now, but since you're at an intermediate level, you should be able to pick up the piece easily.  Hope you enjoy learning it and dancing to the song!

Modern Jazz Across the Floor Combination

This is the beginning of a new piece of choreography for you. The song is "Rainmaker" by Strunz and Farah.....I'm going to be asding more to piece is the coming weeks. I'm not posting any breakdowns to the choreography, but you can set up a private lessons to learn the movement and also learn more of the choreography in a private. I hope you enjoy learning my new piece!
