Experienced musician of 25 years of flute performance. Available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a love for music! My goal is to make sure my lessons are a fun and encouraging learning environment. As a beginner I was really frustrated before coming to Kirsty and it seemed like an insurmountable task. She made the whole experience quite beneficial and enjoyable and was able to reach my goal. Thank you so much.

Do you have an important audition coming up for college, high school, and agent, or a specific show? I have been teaching acting and coaching professionally for the past 18 years in NYC and around the U.S. My students have been accepted to performing arts schools in NYC and beyond in both acting and musical theatre. I specialize in all phases of audition and audition technique - from selection of material to performing. I can help your with techniques to overcome acting problems and bad habits, and – most importantly – l coach how to love auditioning and perform with confidence and principles of showmanship. I also coach video audition techniques to successfully produce an effective video.

My approach is positive and supportive to build confidence and show you at your best.

Robert hired me while I was in college and I worked for him for three summers in a row. Not only did I get to watch him teach and inspire a wide age range of students day after day, but I got to learn from him myself. Robert has the kind of passion for theater that carries into whatever he's doing. You can see it in his teaching, you see it in his mentoring, and you see it when he watches his students perform. Robert knows exactly how to talk to a student, in a way that is both compassionate and honest. He has an incredible talent for getting the people around him to be excited about their craft and driven to work hard. One of the things I most enjoyed about learning from him, is that he doesn't sugar coat things. He tells you exactly what it is you need to work on but he does it from the perspective of someone who supports you and believes in you fully. I'm grateful for the theater experience he gave me years ago and I credit him for much of my success today.

Pamlea is an excellent instructor who wastes no time getting right into the technique required for proper singing. She has a vast array of tricks and tips which help you familiarize yourself with the muscles and movements required for the artform, and I would highly encourage any folk interested in learning to sing to seriously consider Pamela as an instructor.

Very passionate about piano and able to convey ideas.. also very good at feeling out what student is seeking to achieve. Definitely recommend Paul if you are wanting to take playing piano as a serious endeavor
Arthur
My experience with this teacher was horrible. Paul has no patience for a child that might not pay attention as much as necessary. He has forgotten what it is to be a child or how to win over a child and make a lesson fun.
My child had one previous lesson with Paul. It is true that she was not following his directions and his frustration was quite obvious.
On my second visit I was appalled by Paul’s behavior. Again my child wouldn’t sit down on the bench correctly. Verbatim this what occurred next, I quote: “This is not going to work out. Get out of my house NOW, NOW!(Screaming, like I was going to prolong this). I have better things to do than waste my time with your daughter. I don’t want to take your money.

It is true that my daughter can be difficult when approached in an authoritarian manner. However, my daughter is not yet six and Paul brought my daughter to tears. Surely this behavior was at best inappropriate and says more about the person Paul is than about my daughter. A simple “ May I have word with you in private” would be a mature way to part company. Not throwing a 6 year out of your house because you are frustrated. I was horribly offended by his manner and attitude. No way to treat a 6 year old.

This man has no patience with young kids. I would stay away from this teacher unless your child has some experience with piano. Definitely not child friendly.
Normally I do not post reviews unless something extraordinary happens This is one of those: extraordinarily bad.
An apology is in order if this poor excuse for a “teacher” has any understanding of the unnecessary hurt he has caused.

"Fawn is a fantastic voice coach and singing instructor. She genuinely loves and cares about her students, her work, and teaching. She taught me tricks and tips that drastically changed and strengthened my voice for the better just within the first lesson. And without any pressure. She always makes each lesson fun and meaningful. We always discuss new goals (which Fawn is very easy to talk to) and then Fawn tailors a lesson plan to help me quickly reach them. She is extremely flexible about scheduling and also takes extra time to work on particular issues. And what's nice is that her prices are absolutely affordable (and no where near the same ball park as other vocal coaches with her amount of experience)."

An Actor's Life: Your Career Path to New York Shows

If you're an aspiring Broadway performer, the steps you take during high school play a significant role in your success on the stages of New York shows in the future. Sure, you sometimes hear stories of people who book amazing lead roles in shows after a single audition, but that’s not a realistic view of how it all happens - for most actors, at least. Ask any working Broadway performer – New York is not a city that hands you success simply because you’ve just moved there. Hard work, disc …
