I have experience providing accent reduction services and ESL services to students of various age levels. I have training in speech-language therapy and linguistics which have given me background knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of speech production along with understanding of the sound systems in various languages and how that affects one’s accent.
I like to focus on the sounds as well as other factors that influence accent and language: nonverbal communication, intonation, stress, etc. It’s not always just the sound that changes how you are perceived!
