Book NowHello! I have several years of experience teaching piano to high-school and college students, both at an intermediate and advanced level. I began learning piano at age 6, and have played competitively, performed in various classical recitals, performed in a jazz ensemble, and accompanied both choirs and orchestras.
I have plenty of practice material and songs ranging from beginner to advanced. I have the mindset that the student should enjoy what they are playing, so we'll look for music that you wish to play, and music that is progressively challenging. You won't be expected to buy any music materials for our lessons.
I'm looking for any student who wants to build a healthy and enjoyable relationship with piano that they will keep throughout their lives.
About Dustin
I'm 26 years old, work a full-time computer job, and live in Polaris, Ohio in a cozy apartment near the Polaris mall. I have experience tutoring since High School, with emphasis on piano, economics, and mathematics. In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, hiking, visiting parks, and watching TV shows

My goal as a teacher is to avoid any type of dogmatic "one size fits all" curriculum. I always want to know what music the student enjoys and build my lesson plans based on their tastes. Chords can be physically challenging for beginners so I like to work with single-note melodies early on so that the student isn't quickly discouraged. Learning chords becomes the medium-term goal. As for the long-term, I will then use specific songs as examples for how music theory works in the context of their favorite bands. I am always prepared to adjust my lesson plans based on the students progress and overall comfort zone.
About Chris
My name is Chris B. and I've been playing music for most of my life. The best lesson that I've learned is that we're never done learning. Once you start believing that you know everything there is to know about your instrument then you've stopped growing. I've also learned that I enjoy sharing

Memorizing the guitar fretboard notes is something every beginning guitarist should work toward. Here, we'll share a quick exercise and guitar notes chart to help you get started. If the guitar had only one string, it would be quite easy to understand the mechanics of the guitar fretboard. It would be laid out just like a piano, where the further to the right you go, the higher the pitch and vice versa. It's not that easy when it comes to understanding a traditional six-string guitar. …
