My daughter has been taking flute lessons from Heidi for the past 4months now and I have seen tremendous improvement in her. Heidi has a fantastic knowledge of flute. She super nice, very patient, fun and very encouraging which is key component for kids to continue to learn any instrument they are passionate about. When we started first, my daughter was asked what her goals are and she has been teaching based on that. All her lessons are thorough and everything is documented on skype for future reference. My daughter loves Heidi and she looks forward to her class every single time. I’m lucky to have a teacher like her for my daughter and I would highly recommend her.

I am a multi-instrumentalist from Queens, NYC, and I was the cellist/guitarist for the first national tour of the hit broadway show "Waitress".

I trained as a classical cellist at the Aaron Copland School of Music, and I am a lifelong guitarist. Before starting my broadway career, I worked as a freelance cellist, playing with numerous orchestras around NYC, in addition to teaching many students in the Queens/Nassau County area.

I also performed in a 30 city national tour the with the Post-Rock band "You Bred Raptors?". As a guitarist, I was sitting in with a professional band by the time I was just 14, and would later to go to play many clubs around NYC, such as the Bitter End and Bowery Electric, with my own projects.

Nick is really the best instructor ever! He is very knowledgeable about different styles and techniques, but he tailors each lesson so that the student is learning on their own terms - not pushing a methodology or using cookie cutter plans. He is very patient and kind and will work with you at your own pace, whether you are a beginner or want to learn on a more professional level. He plays a ton of different instruments and has experience touring with bands as well as classical training. He's really a one-stop-shop for all your musical needs! Hire him! He's made my life a lot better by teaching me his ways.

I just had my first lesson with Brett and he customized it according to my individual needs and circumstance. I am passionate about guitar and folk music but have no musical experience. Bretts plan is to start with the very basics and move forward from there. He was very patient with me and his directions were easy to follow. Though I am a senior I feel like I am 20 years old again and learning a new skill. Thanks Brett

The key to learning guitar......is finding the right instructor!

I am an encouraging, effective guitar instructor and an experienced performing musician, offering in-person beginner through intermediate guitar instruction in my home and on line.

It is very rewarding to me to help others along the journey of creative expression through music. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.
To kick back after a long day and let your soul speak through a musical instrument is a wonderful release. Please let me guide you along this incredible adventure to bring out that inner artist!

You'll learn guitar playing posture, strumming patterns and an understanding of rhythm, tuning, chords progressions and chord theory, basic principle
s of reading tablature and 5 line staff, and great popular songs. You'll be playing your favorite tunes in no time!

Through formal and self- instructed lessons from age 12, I've learned country, folk, blues, rock, and metal techniques and formed several local bands as lead vocalist and lead/rhythm guitarist.
Writing and recording my own music has been a hobby for over 30 years.

An active music enthusiast from a young age, I began with clarinet technique and music theory from age 9 through public schools, performing in orchestra and marching band.

I started with Scott as a newbie and he has definitely helped me grow as a guitarist. He takes time and makes things easier to learn. As complicated learning can be, he simplifies it and breaks it down. When I feel like I’m not progressing he always shows me how I am. His modules are easy to follow. His teaching style is compatible with all types of learners whether you are visual, hands on or a listener. It’s not just business with him. He’s always available for questions after or between lessons. He’s knowledgeable in equipment so don’t hesitate to ask for some advice on what to buy. He’s affordable and lesson times are flexible. I highly recommend him for all ages and learning needs.

About Amy
I’m a professional singer-songwriter, performing and recording artist. I signed my first publishing deal in Los Angeles in 2004 and spent three years studying music at the Biola Conservatory of Music. I left school to jump on my first tour, opening for Kate Voegele and the Veronicas. I toured the U.S and Europe for many years opening for such acts as: Damien Rice, Colbie Caillat, Andy Grammer and Gavin Rossdale. During that time, I also wrote, recorded and released my own songs as well as songs for film and television. My songs have been placed on: Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Macy’s (Thanksgiving and Christmas campaigns), Catfish (The Movie), Kleenex, Pringles, So You Think You Can Dance, The Blacklist, Teen Wolf and Hemlock Grove, GUILT, the Runaways and The Rook.

In 2012, I began writing with Michelle Branch and realized my love f
or co-writing lyrics! Though melody is equally as important as lyrics, I love diving into the story, poetry and the words each specific artist is drawn to. Instead of just trying to copy whatever is on Spotify or on the radio, I love hearing an individual’s perspective and writing their story uniquely to them. I want every word, every lyric to MEAN something so that, if you were to take even ONE word out, it would change the story. I don’t like using filler words like “Yea”, “Baby” “oh oh oh”….etc. haha. My favorite songs are “Landslide” and “Hallelujah”. I strive every day to write something that sets the bar high. I use a multitude of creative writing techniques to inspire lyrical concepts… Metaphors, similes, “webbing” (as I like to call it), and imperfect rhyming. I believe the rules to songwriting can be broken. Not everything HAS to rhyme! A song doesn’t have to be three minutes and thirty seconds long! The structure doesn’t have to be perfect.

I am currently signed to Kobalt Music Publishing where I’m booked to write lyrics for different artists each day. I’ve had songs cut by: Kelly Clarkson, AKON, Rita Ora, Michelle Branch, Tori Kelly, Icona Pop, Adam Lambert, Jason Mraz, Jojo, Christina Perri, LIGHTS and Damien Rice. I would love to write a song with you! I would love to hear your story, know your favorite songs, hear the words you like to use, the way YOU see life and describe feelings. Every writer can carve his/her own path and I’m here to help you sharpen your tools. I’m down to come to you, Skype, or you’re welcome to my home in East Hollywood.

I would like to highly recommend Ivan Shallal as a music teacher for children. Ivan is a gifted piano teacher. He is very well-respected in Rochester Hills and Troy, Michigan. This community is extremely fortunate to have a music teacher of his caliber to teach in this area.

Ivan is passionate about music. His love for the art is evident in his enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques. He is exceedingly patient with all students, encourages them, and coaxes the very best effort from each one. Although he is one of the best music teachers in the zone, his prices are extremely reasonable. In my opinion, he is worth every penny he charges, and I certainly believe I have received excellent service for my money.

It is my great pleasure to recommend Ivan Shallal as a music teacher. I am tremendously grateful to him for everything he has taught my daughter.

Ivan was an absolutely wonderful Piano teacher to my son, who was 3-4 years old at the time. Ivan was the piano teacher for my 3 boys ages 14, 12 and 7 years old for about 2 years. Before Ivan, my kids lost interest in learning and practicing piano. Ivan was able to engage their interest and make them love practicing. He encouraged them to pick music from famous songs or movies which helped to attract their attention. My kids looked at him as a role model. It was a pleasure having him as their piano teacher. He is a great one. It was a big loss for us when he moved out of the state. He is highly recommended.
