Looking for someone to help you reach that next level? Whatever your stringed instrument, I can guide you there. From the rank basics to traditional tunes, to timing and tone, technique and theory, I can show you what you need to make your journey easier. Rely on my 15 years of music teaching experience to save you countless hours of bewilderment and frustration!

My journey as a musician which began at the age of 8 has now carried me to 48 states and a dozen countries, including 4 tours in continental Europe. I spent 7+ years performing, recording, and giving workshops with talented acoustic acts based in Nashville and the southeast. I am lucky to have been involved and contributed to a handful of IBMA and Grammy-nominated albums.

Increasingly, however, I turn my focus toward private teaching.
I find great joy and pride in helping a student reach their goals and surprise themselves with their own potential.
Go ahead and get in touch, and let's try a session together!

My number one priority is making you successful at whatever you want to achieve by learning to play this beautiful instrument and believe me, if you do half as well as the other people I taught, the only problem that you will have, is that we didn't start 3 months ago, sounds fair enough?

My strongest opinion is that singing should be fun!
It is one of the purest forms of musical expression in my humble opinion. A persons voice is theirs, and there’s alone. When they choose to share it with other it is a very vulnerable and beautiful act.
However, singing is also fun and freeing. It is liberating as well as empowering to improve one’s singing voice.
As a vocal student is and teacher, I enjoy helping others find their voice.
EVERYONE is capable of seeing! And that is something I wholeheartedly believe.
As a teacher I am honest. I am fair, but I am not harsh.
I have been seeing since the age of six, I have been classically trained for the past seven years, and I am now direct children’s choir as well as perform on multiple community choirs. I have studied theater, jazz, pop, and classical voice styles. And I enjoy all stylings.

About Xhy

Hello! My name is Xhy it’s pronounced “why” incase you write wondering. I am a young vocalist and choir director. I take pride in helping people find and improve their sound. I love to have fun and explore music and singing with others. I am here to encourage you but I am not one to lie. If some

Jahcee is AMAZING!! She is patient, perceptive and aware of each of her students gifting independently and in a group. Jahcee has a way of making you feel warm, welcomed and wanted! Her down to earth and humorous character allows you to easily feel comfortable and confident to release your gift, talent and abilities.
Jahcee gives practical instruction to her students and caters to each students learning style. She meets you where you are and assists you in elevating yourself to where your gift requires you to be! I absolutely LOVE her!

"Kevin is one of the best teachers I have ever encountered - not just musically either. As an educator myself I acknowledge that is takes a very special person to convey "complex" material to another in a way that is digestible, relate-able, and fun. And Kevin does just that. Honestly, I can't think of a better music teacher than him. Thank you!!"

"Worked with John for a few months with very little understanding of guitar. He went through chords I should learn and gave me practice suggestions. Also went into music theory per my request and explained in simple terms. By the end, I felt that I had a much greater understanding of music. John also worked to learn what music that I liked and wanted to play, so that he could introduce songs that would maintain my interest and be of an appropriate skill level for me to not get frustrated or bored with. Also worked with my schedule when needed and was very accommodating."

"Winslow is an excellent teacher and I feel fortunate to be learning from him. He is a harmonica master, both in his playing and in his in deep knowledge of the mechanics of the harp and how to play it. He has literally written books on learning to play (Harmonica for Dummies, Blues Harmonica for Dummies).
What I like about our lessons is that he's a great listener. He can hear where I need work and he offers not just one but often several exercises and riffs that address the issue. In addition, he knows the blues, the players, the songs, and the harp riffs for reference. To top it off his manner is light and warm. I feel honored to be learning from him."
