Raymond (Remi) L.

Jacksonville, FL

About Raymond (Remi)

I completed musical studies at the Conservatory of Music of San Juan, Puerto Rico and graduated MAGNA CUM LAUDE, with Majors in Musical Education and as a Performing Artist.
I am a qualified bilingual Music Instructor.
I have performed as a guitarist with several orchestras, musical groups, bands and as classical guitar soloist I have given numerous recitals and concerts.
I have worked as a Music Educator at the Social & Pedagogic Academic Institutes teaching pedagogic & didactic principles to teachers and at the same time I have been teaching classical and popular guitar at all levels and
ages at several other music schools.
I wrote a guitar method "MELODIC GUITAR" for beginners from 7 years of age and up, and this method has been translated from Papiamentu into the English and Spanish languages.
Although my music background is classical, I play and teach popular music, which I love.
Just to mention a few guitarists who appeal to me: Carlos Santana, George Benson, Paco de Lucia, Julian Bream.
I also teach electrical and acoustic guitar, bass-guitar, piano/keyboard, ukulele, Venezuelan & PR cuatro, songwriting and music theory.
Music is an International language; a way to express inner feelings!
And Teaching it, is my passion!

My son Tyler has been taking classical guitar lessons with Raymond for several months now and we can happily say that we have found the best guitar teacher for Tyler. Tyler has taken guitar lessons with several instructors before but Raymond's approach is very different. He is very attentive to how Tyler plays and corrects it as necessary. Tyler has improved so much. He even memorizes his music sheets and plays anytime, anywhere I ask him to. We are very happy with the results. Highly recommended Raymond for a classical guitar teacher!

Christine M.

Fleming Island, FL

About Christine

As a recent graduate of Florida State University's prestigious Music Education program, I am very excited to return home to spread the joy of music to my prospective students! While at FSU, I participated in over 10 different music ensembles, including Women's Glee, University Singers, Vocal Jazz, and Steel Pan. Most notably, I had the honor of being a part of FSU's only All-Female a cappella group, The FSU AcaBelles. During my time in the group, we recorded 3 albums (featured on Spotify and iTunes), won several CARA awards, sang at the Department of State, had a viral YouTube video, won sever
al awards in many national a cappella competitions (including ICCA and SoJam), and traveled the country spreading our love of music. I have studied voice, guitar, and piano for many years and attribute my musical success to my various music teachers. I can't wait to help you start your musical journey!
