Rochester Language Lessons for Teens

Teaching has always been my passion. I have been teaching Mandarin for 10 years at various Language Institutes, and taught at private schools in Michigan for total of 5 years. With corporate client experience, I also have been working as a Mandarin instructor in a language company. There are many adult students with different levels who are currently learning Chinese from me. My success stems from enthusiasm, self-motivation, patient, creativity and the ability to communicate with students from diverse backgrounds. It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to make the learning easy and fun.

I'm Valentina and I'm Italian, born and raised in Torino, Italy. I've just moved here in Michigan and I'm very excited to share my language and tradition here! I have been teaching Italian for the past 3 years. As far as my teaching experience goes, I have previously tutored Italian for young students ranging in age from elementary school to adults while I still lived in Turin.
I’m outgoing, versatile and enthusiastic to share everything about my language, culture and traditions.

I was born and raised in Nice, France. I arrived in the United States in 2010, to study music in California. I just received my doctorate from the University of Miami.

I have taught French to foreign people in France since I was 18 years old (my mother has been doing that for over 30 years now) and since I arrived here to adults and students. I was also a French tutor during my Bachelor, Master and Doctorate programs.

Through private lessons I can help you get ready for exams and midterms, help you improve your french or just offer you to have a conversation with a native speaker. I love my culture and would love to share it with you if you are interested.

I lived in China for over 2 years. I studied Chinese in two different cities (Qingdao and Yiwu). I have many Chinese friends and learned much of the Mandarin that I know through immersion. I have also done a lot of traveling in China and have studied Chinese culture and music.
I use the book "New Practical Chinese Reader," Anki (flashcards), Pleco (dictionary), and HSK 1-4 vocabulary. I prefer to emphasize pronunciation and conversational speaking as they tend to have the biggest impact on day to day use.

I am a native Russian speaker born and raised in Moscow. I graduated from Moscow Pedagogical University and received my Master's degree in Russian and French Languages and Literature from Portland State University. I have an Oregon teaching license and am certified to teach both French and Russian. For the past 25 years I have been traveling the world and working as a French and Russian teacher in international schools in Germany, Pakistan, Belgium, Egypt and Kuwait.
