Edgar T. Manlius, NY

About Edgar

I taught my first private lesson when I was 17 while completing my undergraduate courses at the Yerevan conservatory in Armenia. I became convinced from the start that any person, of any age, can learn the violin if the teacher is flexible in their approach. After teaching for many years, and performing with the Armenian National Opera House Orchestra, I was lucky enough to come to the United States where I earned my artistic diploma and my Master’s Degree in violin performance (from Syracuse University). Currently, I am a member of the Syracuse Symphoria, Allentown Symphony Orchestra and the Tri City Opera. I also perform frequently with Binghamton Philharmonic. Although my background was centered on the Russian school of violin, I prefer to use a blend of many styles and approaches with

Jessica T. Manlius, NY

About Jessica

I currently play with the Syracuse Symphoria Orchestra and teach at my home. Although I only have regular times as listed on Mondays and Tuesdays, due to our symphony schedule, I am willing to arrange flexible lesson times on other days around my rehearsal schedule if needed. I received my Bachelors Degree in Viola Performance from Syracuse University, and my Associates Degree in Violin Performance at Onondaga Community College (originally a violinist). I absolutely love music and want my students to love it too! I am always impressed to see how music positively affects people in their day to day lives. I am patient, versatile, and can work with the most casual beginner, to an advanced student who may want to take college auditions. I especially love animals, children, coffee, and books.

AMAZING Violin Teacher!

Jessica has been teaching my daughter violin for about a year now. The progress she has made is amazing. Jessica is very patient with her, as she was only 6 years old when she started. She comes well prepared, is encouraging, and we have good communication. I highly recommend Jessica as a teacher for anyone with a young child who is interested in music. She really is able to connect with my daughter, and she looks forward to Jessica's lesson each week.

Couldn't ask for a better teacher

I was in sixth grade when my mom first got a private violin teacher for me, and, admittedly, I was very reluctant; up until that point, I had never thought about pursuing violin too seriously, and I was terrified that my teacher would be an emotionless and mean person who would expect nothing less than perfection. However, the first time I met Jessica, I realized how great of a teacher and how sweet of a person she really was. She helped me realize my full potential, and always motivated me to practice so that I could improve. She opened so many doors for me, and I wouldn't be anywhere near as successful with my playing without her. Thanks to Jessica, violin has become such a significant part of my life, and I will definitely continue to play for years to come.

Highly Recommend

We are very fortunate to have found Jessica a year ago, She teaches our 3 children (ages 15, 12 and 10) and they have really grown to love the instrument and their lessons with her. We've found her to be gentle, encouraging and patient with a sense of humor in her teaching. She is knowledgeable and highly skilled. And this is apparent in how far the kids have come in their playing. Their school's music teacher has really commended them on this.

Most importantly they love her and their lessons with her and this is very much appreciated since I know my two younger ones are sensitive and would rather discontinue lessons than be with a teacher they don't like.
Melissa H. Jamesville, NY

About Melissa

Melissa has spent the past 14 years teaching singing to students of all ages. She teaches many genres of voice including Broadway, Classical/Opera, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Folk. With a solid foundation in singing, most any genre can be sung healthily! A strong believer in 'thinking outside of the box', Melissa makes sure each student feels comfortable enough to 'get out of their head' and 'sing from the heart'. With a gentle and fun personality but high expectations, Melissa is able to get the best out of all her singers and makes every lesson, even your first, feel like a success! ***IMPORTANT*** The voice is a delicate instrument and because of this , I do not offer FULL voice lessons until the age of 13. If you are under 13 and want to start voice lessons, I do a combo ...

Anushri K. Syracuse, NY

About Anushri

Hello everyone! I am available for tutoring as well as teaching music lessons. I have experience tutoring students who may need more time to process information than is provided in a classroom setting in all subjects, and I'm great when it comes to communicating with kids who are weary from having lessons drilled into them at school. Not to brag, but I was in the top 8% of my high school class and am now a double degree college graduate in Neurobiology and South Asian Languages/Culture. I can teach everything from elementary curriculum to high school. In addition, I have over a decade of varsity and award winning musical experience in piano. I taught beginners as young as 5 and as old as 26 in the past, and I myself have been playing the piano for 14 years - since I was eight
