I graduated with a degree in music performance in 2019, and have over 13 years of playing experience and 5 years of teaching experience (ranging from student as young as 5 years old). Outside of music, I am a medical student (M.D.). I enjoy using music as an outlet and teach trumpet lessons because it is my passion!
As a teacher, my goal is to help not only facilitate musical interpretation and technical skills on the trumpet but also help foster a student's life-long love for music. I believe that students should not only progress technically but foster a sense of who they are as performers, regardless of their level.
As a performer, I have played in symphony orchestras, in the pit for musicals such as Pippin, Into the Woods, and The Music Man, and private gigs. I've received training in performance anxiety and overcoming fear of public performance and would be happy to discuss techniques.
I offer individualized lessons and am passionate about helping students' achieve their goals!. I try to provide affordable lesson prices so that financial concerns never inhibit students' ability to progress and reach their potential! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

I will start off class by doing vocal warm-ups with students and asking them about their practice that week and what they found easy or difficult about the vocal piece we are working on. I will tweak warm-ups to work on the areas they found difficult. We will then check in with our posture and do physical warm-ups to find any areas where we may be holding tension that could impact our vocal performance. We will talk about the proper way to breathe (lower belly) and to avoid constricting or straining our airways in sound productions. Then, I'll have them sing the song through once for me and I will give them notes on each section, demonstrating what they should do to improve that area. Comments can include things about rhythm, pitch, intonation, diction, breath support, delivery, vocal health, placement, and volume control.
I will also work with the students to help them self-identify problems going forward by asking them what they did well and what they can improve upon so that ...
I am passionate about teaching vocal music and stage performance. My first love was musical theatre and then I branched out later in life to classical voice and jazz. However, I can teach voice for any type of music that you have an interest in! I studied music (classical voice) in college through p

Students can expect that they will improve with me if diligent and focuses practice is put in every day. I will recommend books and tools to help them improve, as well as fundamental warm-ups and daily practice exercises designed to help them progress as quickly as they can (provided they are done correctly!).
The trombone has a wonderful sound, but there is a bit of a learning curve due to the slide (even though making that glissando/slide sound is a ton of fun). I am dedicated to work with my students to help them navigate the challenges that come from not having valves like the other brass instruments so they can really make the trombone sing!

Ahmad is extremely talented, intelligent, and friendly and is always there to support me in whatever new musical concept I wish to learn next. He can help anyone looking to better themselves in a wide variety of areas regardless of the style of music you are interested in. I have been studying jazz with him primarily, as my goal is to be able to write my own music and put together a band some day. I have no intention of stopping music lessons with Ahmad as they continue to be something I look forward to every week. Anyone would be lucky to have such a great teacher."

Opera singers are known as the true “vocal athletes” in the music world. They must rely entirely on their body to be heard: no microphones allowed. (Unless they’re performing in a stadium, of course)! Operatic singing requires voices that can easily be heard over a full orchestra in very large houses. Although pop music dominates today’s televised talent shows and the radio, opera is still a celebrated art form that is more accessible than ever. Every year, many young singers begi …
