Guitar
Excellent Instructor Overall

"Awesome teacher" 5/5 stars Boulder Guitar Studio Review
I wouldn't consider getting instruction from anybody but Lee. From his lifetime devotion to music, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of musical styles and playing techniques, which he uses to customize lessons to the student's particular goals. Besides guitar and bass, I spent a lot of time with Lee studying songwriting -- he's an awesome writer himself and completely open about sharing all the things he has learned over the years.
That willingness to adapt to my particular needs and desires, along with his true passion for all types of music, makes Lee an outstanding teacher.
Pros: Helpful, Engaging, Encouraging, Smart, Patient, Funny, Fun, Good communicator- Derek Zahn, Boulder, CO, Oct 11, 2010

Kyndra S.

Greeley, CO

About Kyndra

My name is Kyndra Soto and I live in Greeley, Colorado with my family. I am thrilled to be teaching music in my home studio! I have experience teaching piano, vocal, and general music to pre-k through
adults, in various settings.  One of my passions is teaching students with affective needs because both of my two sons have learning difficulties.  I would be honored to work with you and your child whether you are highly gifted or whether you have a non-typical way of thinking and learning.  My mission is to guide each student in his or her unique musical experience. I want to see every student feel successful and grow as a musician, as a learner, and as a person.

Karney S.

Fort Collins, CO

About Karney

I have played guitar professionally along the Front Range since 1989 and began teaching in 1997. During that time, I've been fortunate to have opened up for national acts such as Eddie Money, Night Ra
nger, Quiet Riot and shared the stage with members of Firefall and the Derek Trucks Band.

Several of my students have auditioned for and were accepted as the sole guitar seat in the junior high, high school, and college jazz bands. A few of my younger students received honors in their grade school music programs.

I believe the key to the success of the student is that they enjoy what they are doing and gain confidence through the skills they have worked hard to develop.

Over the past seven years, I have had three different guitar teachers. Karney is by far my favorite. The thing that really sets him apart is that he made me love playing guitar. I liked it before, but Karney actually taught me what I wanted to learn. This motivated me to practice the songs and eventually allowed me to play guitar at several weddings, both with Karney and by myself. He always goes the extra mile in my instruction by looking on his own time for cool new songs we can play. I know going into every lesson that I will have a good time and learn something new.

Anne R.

Erie, CO

About Anne

I grew up in Germany in a musical household. My mother is an opera singer and before she retired, was classical voice faculty at the Universität of Oldenburg and Hochschule der Künste in Bremen. I sta
rted playing the violin when I was 4.5 years old, played my first concert as a soloist at Die Glocke Bremen when I was 10 years old, and was in several youth orchestras. My mother has taught me singing from an early age on. I was starring in various cabaret shows in Berlin and Los Angeles between 2000-2010. My shows received several reviews by Cabaret Scenes magazine.
I moved to Colorado in 2011 and have been working as a performer and teacher. I am also a double performance major in jazz voice and classical violin, and I am graduating in jazz voice in fall 2016. I do not only teach classical violin, but also bluegrass and jazz violin for students who are interested.
