Eunjeong has great energy and enthusiasm which definitely rubs off on you and makes you excited to learn new material. Speaks English, American Sign Language -
Teaches Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced -
Teaching since 1992
Teaching Locations:

I teach and tutor in American Sign Language from the perspective of one who came into ASL and the Deaf community without a thought of being a professional in a related field. Still, I did become a professional interpreter, teacher, tutor, mentor and have been a service-provider, advocate and friend with many Deaf since 1984.
I want my students to learn that fear and anxiety in undertaking a new adventure are usually of our own making, and that learning about other cultures and languages by association with native users is so valuable.
Therefore, my classes are highly interactive and immersive; students will be required often to learn voice-off, role-play sign language / deaf experience situations, complete tasks between classes, and engage fully. Focus will be on conversational quality, grammatical structures, situational encounters, expressive and receptive language skills.
I will provide curriculum and, as needed, written information and videos used.

Looking forward to the next lesson"

Maria is excellent. First, her techniques for teaching grammar along with vocabulary, bit by bit introducing the nuances needed to put sentences together in the proper fashion get students learning several things at once without actually realizing how much is being absorbed. Second, she supplies useful handouts to supplement the text as well as a multitude of on-line sources. I have used them often.
Last, her personality is extremely helpful for me, a slow learner! Her love for two countries, two ways of life, shows through and her uplifting personality makes the learning process fun. Obviously she is teaching a language but she is also teaching something of the Italian culture. It is apparent she very much wants students to learn and is willing to help those who learn slowly as well as those who have a “knack” for languages. I recommend her highly."
