It is easy to read black text in a white text box, or white text in a black text box. But you also want your slides to be visually appealing. You don't have to sacrifice readability/accessibility when you use pictures and colorful background images.
This video shows how to create text boxes your students/audience can easily read no matter what you place it on top of.

After over 20 years working in Special Education I have been conducting professional development for the last eight years in Instructional Technology. Between those two roles I have worked with students aged 5-adults, and with every category of disability. In addition to my full-time, year-round position, I have taught a graduate course in Universal Design for Learning through Gratz College and LaSalle University. All of which means I specialize in finding the right way to teach based on the ways my students learn best!
I have trained thousands of teachers in Microsoft's applications and can help you with both the desktop applications as well as the online (Office 365) versions if you only have access through a Chromebook.
I am the author of the book All the Microsoft Tools You Need to Transform Your Classroom. While I've spent the last 8 years teaching technology to teachers, that includes training them how to teach their students to use the technology. In addition to my full-time job, I am a Learning Specialist for a Microsoft education Global Training Partner.

Did you know PowerPoint has accessibility tools like dictation, captions, translations, and templates, that you can practice presenting and PowerPoint can give you automatic feedback, and that you can turn a Word document into a PowerPoint presentation? How about using PowerPoint to create video tutorials, or QR Codes, or word clouds?
I can also show you how to just make good, easy to view, informative, well-designed slideshows.

Dictation on Slides and in Notes

You may be familiar with the faint lines that pop up as you drag objects around on a slide that show you when they are aligned with the top, middle, bottom, right or left of another object. If so, you have probably also been frustrated by how many lines pop up when there are several objects on your slide. This video shows a much easier way to get multiple objects aligned with exactly what you want them aligned with.
