Hello fellow students!

My name is Anabel, I am a professional photographer in Los Angeles, California. I photograph a variety of subjects, from pets to Grammy-nominated musicians, and everything in-between! I am well versed in studio photography and on-location outdoor work, and can help you learn to make the most of any location and subject matter.

Being self-taught, I believe that I have an entirely different approach to education; one that sits well with aspiring photographers, especially those that are disappointed in traditional (as in, college and university) photographic education. My teaching philosophy revolves around educating on the minimum and maximum capabilities of your gear and giving students all of the fundamental tools to create whatever image they have in their head (hence my lack of a photographic ‘niche’ in my work. When your camera becomes an extension of your arm, your subject pool is limitless).

In 2015, I had officially made my photography classes ...

I lost the "joy" of photography with Irina. Technically, she knows her stuff, but her sensitivity and people skills are lacking. Barely an encouraging word. I felt degraded, nervous, and overall shitty by the end of the second lesson. Hoping for a better experience with another teacher.
Desislava G.
Irina is amazing... I would never even think that I can create such beautiful photographies.
My father used to have a small photo lab at the loft and it was like a magic to me. I was always passionate to learn the beauty of photography however I never got the chance to.
I took few classes with Irina, she helped me to create incredible photos for my marketing campaign.
Irina is very professional and patient teacher, she has deep knowledge of photography and she makes it fun to learn.
I would recommend Irina to anyone who wants to learn photography.

Japanese calligraphy is a form of calligraphy, or artistic writing, of the Japanese language.

In modern calligraphy, a number of tools are used to make a composition. Most basic four tools were collectively called Four Treasures of the Study.
You need to purchase at the Japanese store or internet store.

1. A brush
2. An ink stick (sumi).
3. Mulberry paper (washi)
4. An inkstone (suzuri) to grind the inkstick against, mixed with water.

5. A paperweight (bunchin) to hold the paper in place
6. A cloth (shi ta ji ki) to place under the paper (often newsprint is used as well) to prevent ink from bleeding through.

Thanks so much for Toshi in this quarantine time training. Toshi is a very strict teacher and mentor. And thank you for being an inspiration for my Japanese journey. You taught me how to strive for perfect pronunciation and precise in Japanese speaking skills, giving 200% when I’m studying/training and push my self over the limit. I am a classically trained artist and I teach traditional methods of representational drawing. I’ve taught at several local ateliers as well as internationally through the State Department’s Art In The Embassies program. I can help you learn about perspective, line, volume, and composition in an a way that is easy to understand. My teaching style is rich with experience and information but also very low key and unintimidating. Also— I’m really fun! Come draw with me!

"Joy is lovely and has been very flexible with my schedule. You can tell she loves photography and enjoys teaching. If I was more of an online learner I would have rated the session a 5. I am now realizing I am more of a hands on person it is personally challenging for me to learn using this method. In an ideal world we would be learning by shooting in real time."
