Lessons begin with fun warm-up games learning the basic rules of improv. After studying with The Groundlings and The Second City as well as performing professionally with "The-Grown-ups Playground" in NYC, I've learned a plethora of games! After the warm-up I start students off with a few games centered on physicality and from there will move to fun games revolving around quick, funny emotional changes and end with games creating characters. Lessons are always a blast and students leave encouraged and up for anything as they learn how improv actually can help their daily lives as well!

Gerri is a great teacher as she brings out the best efforts in our daughter (who often approaches new ideas/people/activities with trepidation). She helps our daughter understand her lessons in a very clear and absorbable fashion. We highly recommend her.

My son loves his drum lessons. Being eight, he naturally has an excess amount of energy and a tendency to chat but Joe has a way of engaging him and keeps him learning. Very positive and supportive as well.

Monica is the best!! She was so kind and helpful, she wasn’t hesitant on giving back helpful feedback. Her communication was amazing!! She sent several videos on how to improve jumps and extra tips for cheerleading. She has a very positive attitude and high energy which makes lessons 10x better and fun. We both saw major improvements just 5-10 minutes in. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

"Kristen is an amazing teacher! She has such a wonderful way of inspiring a hard work ethic. She corrects with kindness when needed, and maintains a delightfully positive attitude throughout the lesson. Coming back to ballet in adulthood, as a former professional dancer— I had a lot of anxiety and trepidation about returning. Kristen has been incredibly supportive, understanding, enthusiastic, and compassionate; she guides with joy, intelligence and empathy, in a highly articulate and informative manner. I recommend her to anyone and everyone; take her class, you’ll be thrilled, I promise."

3 Drama Games for Learning Method Acting

Method acting requires you to fully embrace your transformation into your character. To create an authentic experience for your audience, you need to lose the speech inflections, facial expressions, and physical mannerisms that wouldn't make sense. For example, when an actor plays a depressed man, his cynical speech won't be convincing if he delivers it with perfect, confident posture. When Hollywood stars stay in character between takes, or improv comedians wear disguises to interact with un …

Contemporary Dance for Beginners: What Do You Need to Know?

Contemporary dance. You’ve probably seen it on famous dance television shows like So You Think You Can Dance or Dancing with the Stars, but do you actually know what contemporary dance is? 5 Acting Warm Ups & Games to do Before an Audition

Being in the entertainment industry is not much different from being in the sports world. In addition to some natural talent and interest, a huge overlap with both industries is the time spent honing your craft. Of course regular practice is a necessary evil, but come race or audition day, our minds and bodies still need to be prepared for what’s about to happen. Just as we see athletes spending time stretching and warming up before a performance, it’s mandatory that actors warm up before …
