Jeremy A.

Casselberry, FL

About Jeremy

I am an accomplished performing musician that has experience playing many different instruments in multiple styles. I believe first and foremost that learning music should be fun and exciting with an emphasis on self exploration and communication. It's these qualities in my own musicianship that have helped me grow a true love of music and have pushed my career forward as a performer.

*** Lesson Details ***
In lessons I use a shifting curriculum that is made to work with the needs of each individual student. I firmly believe in the importance of learning to read music and learning some bas
ic music theory, in my experience this helps the student grow from being able to reproduce the music of others to eventually developing a unique style and sound. After three to six months my beginning level students typically feel comfortable enough to play with other musicians confidently.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lessons take place in the living room seating and a guitar are available. 1 cat and 1 small dog kept separate during lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will provide all of the necessary educational tools such as listening samples, and printed off hand outs. The student needs to have their own instrument, staff paper and a pencil.

My first lesson with Jeremy was fantastic. He tuned right in (no pun intended) to what I wanted to learn about right after we spoke the first time. He obviously knows his stuff and I look forward to spending more time taking lessons from him.

Rebekah P.

Winter Park, FL

About Rebekah

With a degree in classical voice and over 10 years of teaching experience, I can help you reach your musical goals! Using proven methods, you can learn the techniques necessary to sing like the pros or make the ivory keys of your piano dance!

My teaching style would be best described as intense and flexible. I'm a total stickler for proper technique and classical learning theory, but I also give my students the power to choose what repertoire they work on. I often tell my pupils, "I don't really care what you're playing or singing, as long as you focus on the fundamentals learned in lesso
ns". I believe students will practice music they like, so I encourage them to pick songs they enjoy hearing. The concept that purposeful learning can be achieved using almost any repertoire is at the core of my teaching philosophy.

She took the time to listen and understand where my piano/music experience was - basically zero. Then started with what I knew and low and behold at the end of 30 min she was playing the basic cords and I was singing the song. What a fun time, can't wait till next week. She did give me plenty of homework to get done before our next lesson.

Lily L.

Orlando, FL

About Lily

Hello!

I am a 2014 graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. I have completed 2 internships, both in 1st grade, then taught Kindergarten in Seminole county Schools for one year and have since discovered my love for teaching in one-on-one situations. I believe that building relationships is an important and integral part of effective teaching, and the learning stems from that.

I have a passion for music, and have been playing flute since 2003, piano since 1998, and guitar since 2006. I played the flute thr
oughout middle and high school, and I continue playing for weddings, holiday performances, etc. to this day. I have consistently auditioned for All-County performances all throughout middle and high school with flute, and have received top positions. I have also been playing piano since 1998, taken piano lessons for 7 years, and performed in several recitals. I also have taught myself guitar and ukulele and have performed in a few festivals and coffee shops around Orlando.

I've also enjoyed venturing into the world of graphic/web design, and run my own tiny little design business at lilyliseno.com. I taught myself how to do some basic coding using HTML and CSS, and how to use adobe photoshop and illustrator to create website designs, social media graphics, logos, flyers, and t-shirt designs.

**Lesson Details**

My teaching style is laid back and casual in nature. I believe the most productive learning comes through relationships, trust, and fun!

Music Lessons

Piano lessons will be held in my home in Orlando.
Flute lessons will be held in my house in Orlando or via Skype. You will need to have your own flute for lessons and practice.

Desirae S.

Sanford, FL

About Desirae

My passion for music was awakened when I first began receiving classical piano lessons at age five. My love of music and passion for teaching continuously grew as I achieved my BM in Music Education at PBA, after which, I enjoyed two years of teaching pre-k-middle school music, elementary choir, and percussion ensemble while also giving private piano and voice lessons. Although I loved teaching music to typical students, I began to realize that the need for music education went much deeper, and I decided to continue my path in education by obtaining a M.Ed.in ESE at UCF. Now my greatest desir
e has become to share with students with and without disabilities, the musical passion that I have been so fortunate to experience, while facilitating their growth and development not only musically, but physically, socially, emotionally, and academically as well.

Desirae is teaching piano to my grandson, who is 15. He has had his first lesson with her and he liked her very much. He said he thinks she is a good teacher! Desirae arrived at his home right on time for the lesson. She is quite friendly and personable and my grandson looks forward to future lessons with her.
