Kathryn is the real deal! I have never acted before and thought I'd like to give it a try. She has this ability to help you believe in yourself in such a way that after the first session I knew if I wanted to pursue acting full time Kathryn would help me make that happen. After working with her I also walked away feeling enlivened. Kathryn took me under her wing and taught me a great deal in a short amount of time. She's also grown up in the industry so her knowledge is vast and priceless.

Kathryn rocks! A wonderful teacher!

Kathryn is teaching my young daughter to sing and we feel very blessed to have found her. She has a really great teaching style that made both me and my daughter quickly feel at ease. She has an incredible background and her technical skills and knowledge are first rate. But she is also fun, spontaneous, and really knows how to interact with and inspire my child. I could go on and on about the world of music and excitement she has opened for us. But in a nutshell, if you have a chance to study with Kathryn you will be very glad you did! The home studio is lovely & wonderfully equipped - its just made for musicians! 5 Stars!!

About Crystal

Crystal brings a lifetime’s experience of professional musicianship to each of her lessons. Born into a family of musicians, she sang her first solo at age 2. Her performing career has taken her from L.A. church meetings to London’s Houses of Parliament.

Crystal hails originally from Los Angeles, CA - where her musical parents gave her a head start by including her in the family business the moment she was able to contribute. She went on to study classical voice, piano and music theory at The Boston Conservatory of Music. After concluding her studies in London, she returned home and ...

Amazing singng instructor

Crystal has increased my daughter’s self-esteem and expressiveness through song. My daughter is now writing her own poetry and song lyrics, as well as being able to combat her once shyness quality. She loves to perform in front of others now and has a confidence level that amazes me, especially now that she is going into those “teen” years. I think a lot of thanks needs to go to Crystal, for assisting my daughter in reaching her current creative level!

Great piano instructor

Crystal is an amazing piano instructor. She is patient, understanding and dedicated. My daughter has learned so much from her. My daughter’s love for music has increased immensely since learning how to play the piano. This would never have been able to be accomplished without Crystal’s professional and caring teaching style.

Wonderful person and excellent instruction

I have been taking lessons from Crystal for a few months now. I took lessons from others before I moved to the area, and I have had multiple new breakthroughs with Crystal. She is great at finding the language that allows me to understand adjustments, and is very patient and understanding. I was at ease from the first moment I met her. I highly recommend her to other adults looking to get into singing of any kind!

Matt's acting lessons consist of fun improvisational games to allow for authentic emotional reactions in both scripted scenes and in improv. Students will also be aided in developing a character, analyzing a script and preparing scenes and monologues for auditions, if that is something they are interest in.

About Matthew

I am primarily a composer, guitarist, tenor, pianist and percussionist and I love sharing what I have learned with others and watching my students develop and grow. My goal is to teach my students until they are better than me, so I hold no secrets, tricks or techniques back and I devote my time and energy to help others become the best musicians, artists and people they can be.I have a BA in music composition and a BA in music history, both from California State University, San Bernardino. I play the guitar, bass, piano, drums, orchestral percussion, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, recorder, harmonica and didgeridoo with varying levels of proficiency and have experience in music theory, songwriting, recording, MIDI, arranging, singing (contemporary, broadway and opera), and acting/performing. ...

My lesson with Matthew was great. Even though I have experience with music he was able to help me out with small habits that I needed help breaking. Great teacher really well versed in different styles of music as well as small techniques which will help me build and become a better piano player. All around great experience for my first time taking a piano lesson. Thanks Matt!!!

My expansive breadth of interests has led me through years of experience in the arts and natural sciences. I'm a voice instructor, math tutor, and biology teacher. Now, I'm pursuing a career in opera and vocal performance.

I have extensively studied vocal performance and opera for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have been in many operas and musical theater productions. Ben is a great teacher and great guy. Since I had a musical background and training, I was searching for a specific type of teacher that would help me improve my singing but in a specific style (singer-songwriter/r&b). Ben demonstrated a great deal of knowledge not only in technical instruction, but with the elements singers use in that specific style to be successful. That is not a skill everyone would have. He shows a thirst for learning more to make himself and his students better. I have already shown big improvements over a few months. So, if you are looking for a versatile teacher who cares a lot about seeing you improve, he's your guy.

I have never had any interest in singing beyond that which I do in my car, but I do now!
I agreed to take a lesson from Ben purely to see what range of voice I had. I planned on taking only one lesson, simply for this reason. As Ben had me doing the exercises, I realized that I had quite a bit of potential I never even dreamed I would have. He unlocked things in my voice I never knew I had. I learnt so much from that one lesson and had such a truly fun time, I decided I would continue.
I have taken six lessons now and I see huge improvements in my singing. When I sing for fun in the car, I now know how to "tame" my voice, I now understand the mechanics of singing styles and I understand how to breathe properly.
Each lesson I learn something new and though I tend to sometimes forget proper technique, Ben is always patient with me and, in a clear and concise way, shows me what I am doing wrong. He has a very good way of explaining things and really tries to unlock all my potential. Every visit I walk away happy and excited and with a lighter step. I feel my confidence, in general, has increased through these lessons. I fully recommend Ben to anyone wanting to learn what they are capable of with their voice...I've learned everyone is capable of singing. I recommend even one lesson with Ben to learn some basics and see what your vocal range is...and from there, see if you don't want to continue :)
Molly R. Hayward, CA

All ages. I have taught drama/musical theatre in groups as well as coached individuals.

About Molly

I have been teaching for 12 years: kids, teens-even beginner vocalists in their sixties! Rockers, an "Idol" finalist, church musicians, lapsed opera singers, preschoolers. These are just a few of singers I have worked with, in person, in the classroom, and Online!

What you get in voice lessons with me: laughter as you learn! I have learned solid classical vocal technique from the very best, and I believe everyone deserves the same useful tools, no matter what it is you like to sing. I am patient and customize each and every lesson. Need more time on ear training? No problem. Are you feeling more confident, and want to focus more on song polishing? I'll help you with that, too! Confidence an issue? I am a pro with shy people. I'll get you out of your shell, relaxed, ...

I have Molly R. to thank for getting me out of my fear of singing. At first, I was so nervous that I couldn't even sing along to the radio with my friends! I met her through a class with Boldly Me, and then ended up taking lessons with her to prepare for my first big audition with StarStruck (I know right? I love performing but I get shy about singing). Though I didn't get in, she had given me that boost of confidence and the arsenal of skills/tricks that I needed to keep trying. I worked with her again to audition for Stage1's "Seussical"- and got in as the "lead Wickersham"!!
Molly has helped me with so much; she teaches you beyond what you could expect of yourself and guides you to your fullest potential.. all while keeping it fun and comfortable!! Molly doesn't just help you learn how to sing, she helps you learn to love to sing.

I brought my five-year-old son to Molly ten months ago to help prepare him for a choir class. My son wasn't overly enthused at first. With a lot of patience and understanding on Molly’s part, he’s come around to looking forward to their sessions together. He’s now six and can match pitch and learn multi-verse songs. He sings along to his favorite songs in the car although he complains, “Daddy, I don’t want to sing, I just can’t help myself.” That spontaneous urge to break out in song was just what I had hoped for my son. Thank you, Molly!
