Deepen your knowledge of the flamenco guitar, harmony, technique, accompaniment and artistry

Jesse’s musical studies have brought him on a journey through a variety of sounds and styles. He has studied closely with classical/flamenco guitarist Angel Lejarza Leo, virtuoso flamenco guitarist Jason Mcguire “El Rubio”, as well as Emmy award winning dancer and choreographer Yaelisa of Caminos Flamencos. Jesse attended the prestigious Eastman School of Music, where he developed his artistry under renowned classical guitarist, Professor Nicholas Goluses. Jesse graduated in 2020 with Distinction and was honored with a Performer’s Certificate demonstrating excellence in performance. Jesse has made appearances with the finest flamencos and musicians in the Bay Area. His collaborations have brought him to the stage with Emmy Award winning dancer and choreographer Yaelisa of Caminos Flamencos, Grammy Award winning virtuoso flamenco guitarist Antonio Rey, and Grammy award winning violinist Mads Tolling. Jesse’s unique style of playing has allowed for Camino de Agua, a collaboration with masterful guitarist Carlos Caminos, to explore a fusion of musical styles, from flamenco to joropo, classical, contemporary and beyond. The two make appearances in private and public shows as a duo, as well as in larger ensemble arrangements. Jesse also makes appearances frequently with the high performing flamenco dancer Mizuho Sato and her dance company. Together, Mizuho and Jesse perform flamenco in both traditional and contemporary capacities and their collaboration has brought them to the stage all across the San Francisco Bay Area as well as Southern California. Jesse has performed in a variety of venues including the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, the Congregation Sherith Israel in San Francisco, the San Francisco Academy of Sciences, the Sound Room in Oakland, the Herbst War Memorial Theater ball room in San Francisco, Club Fox in Redwood City, and the Ashkenaz in Berkeley. Outside of performance Jesse works one on one with aspiring musicians across California and the United States teaching eager students. His commitment to excellence and open-minded approach to teaching brings an air of excitement to the studio.

Jesse is a great teacher, would highly recommend. I've been playing guitar for many years but just started learning flamenco with Jesse. He has helped tremendously with correct technique, rhythm, and music theory. He also understands how to work at your pace / level.

Jesse is an excellent teacher. He is calm, warm and incredibly patient with my 6 year old daughter. After having a thoughtful discussion about how we should start lessons, we agreed on an approach that would further encourage her natural enthusiasm for music. She loves it. Jesse has also been very flexible with offering zoom and in person classes. I have been really impressed with how well he holds my daughter’s attention even over zoom. He is a wonderful teacher and I could not recommend him more.

Jesse is an awesome instructor! My 10 year old is learning how to play the guitar and increasing in his confidence as well as abilities. Jesse has a great rapport with my son built on jokes, jam sessions and accountability for weekly practice. My son has had a few teachers so far but Jesse has helped him to grow and keeps him engaged. We are sticking with Jesse!
