Coaching for auditions, self tapes and performance
Amy provides private audition and performance coaching. As a coach, Amy believes in helping each actor create a developed character based on script analysis and personalized choices that combine the given and imagined circumstances with the actors’ unique voice, heart and point of view. Acting is not a one size fits all art form as each artist has a singular instrument and each actor works differently from the next. In working with Amy, she will help guide you to think beyond the page and to do the most specific, personal and fully realized work that you can do. Amy creates a supportive and encouraging environment to help her clients make something they are proud of.

I’ve been working as an actor for many, many years and something I’ve found fascinating about the craft of acting is that there is always something to learn and that no matter how much experience you have, you are never finished. In my journey as an actor, I found that in the beginning, not a lot came naturally to me so I really had to work hard to figure out each aspect of my craft and try lots of different techniques and ways in before I could master it. Having worked and trained so much, I found that I now have a large tool box I’ve built up over the years that I have been sharing with my clients in my coaching. I love to be able to approach each actor with a set of tools and vocabulary that will work specifically for them, whether it be text analysis, personalization of choices, physicality, etc.
I like to always provide a safe, encouraging, inspiring (and hopefully fun) environment to work in and I’ve learned and firmly believe that the best work can be done in this kind of environment.
As we all know, auditioning is HARD! A client came to me with audition material where he was playing a twin conjoined at the head, his brother was choking and he had to call 9-11 while his body was slowly shutting down. TRUE STORY! The first thing he said to me was “what the heck do I do with this?” and after an hour of work together, we came up with quite a great tape that got some exciting, positive feedback!
My clients have had success booking and receiving callbacks for major TV shows and films, Broadway, regional theater and acceptances into top university drama programs.

Amy has been an incredible teacher and a huge help to me! I started off very nervous and shy, but she’s super welcoming, encouraging, and kind! She has really broken me out of my shell and pushed me to be great! She is incredibly encouraging and truly wants us to succeed! She’s given me countless tips and exercises that have elevated me as an actor! As artists, we need great teachers that can see just how great we can be and help guide us to our full potential and Amy is 100% that person!

Amy is a fabulous acting coach! When we work together, she really helps me find moments in the text to help me bring the character to life. Not only has she worked with me, she also coached my 8-year-old and helped her prepare for her first (successful!) self tape. Thanks to her work with Amy, she felt super prepared when she got to set. Amy is great at teaching people of all ages and skill levels. I recommend her without reservation!

I needed a reader and director and help with my eyeline for a self-tape audition. Amy was great for what I needed. I will use her here again.
