I teach MUSIC and PHOTOGRAPHY,

MUSIC
I am an independent music instructor.  I have trained students in opera, jazz, and contemporary.  

I began my piano studies at age eight and began teaching in high school.  I have a Bachelor of Arts minor in vocal performance from Brigham Young University.

I have taught hundreds students of various ages and abilities and have been involved in a number of musical groups and productions, such as Opera Scenes, Phoenix Rising, Women's Chorus, and the Cincinnati Women's Group. 

My instruction emphasizes a relaxed learning environment with a focus on the student's needs.
 
I also encourage and teach my students how to take care of their voice and body to avoid strain or injury.

What Students Will Learn:
*Sound, rhythm, and beat
*Figuring out where the notes are on a page of music
*Dynamics (such as loud and soft)
*Understanding high and low notes
*The importance of regular practice
*Following instructions
*Performing for a teacher (and an audience, in some cases)

Performances:
*I encourage each student to find at least one opportunity to perform yearly. Whether performing for friends or family, regularly performing for an audience results in tremendous growth!

What will be needed for the course: 
Either a interchangeable lens camera or your phone is fine. 

Always my end goal is to help you feel ready to start up your own business of doing family, portrait, engagement, and weddings. 

I earned my Visual Arts major in Photography from Brigham Young University. 

I have run a photography business for 18 years. 

I have taken pictures for weddings, engagements, senior pictures, landscapes, and family portraits. 

I focus mostly on what students would like to learn. 

How to manually operate a camera is a critical learning emphasis. 

If applicable, we'll also talk about how to run a photography business.

Christy Is a wonderful instructor she’s provided me with some practical ideas and projects that have helped me better understand my camera I’m very pleased.

Christy is doing a wonderful job she has provided me with new ideas and techniques. this class has given me new ways to explore Photography.

The lesson was great however I could not seem to get me camera to work with the site .

Christy is a very knowledgeable vocal coach. Her teaching methods are unmatched. I'm glad i found her.

Christy is such a great teacher! She introduced me to lots of new ideas about singing that were super helpful. Highly recommend!

Encouraging patient really listens for the problem areas and offers techniques to address.  Very sweet person.  I started making changes and seeing improvements from the first lesson on.

Christy was amazing! She is so warm and opening it felt like I knew her for years!! I am looking forward to more lessons with her, although what we went over was what I was already learning she put things into perspective of how I would use things such as for weddings, different poses, you name it. Those 30 minutes went by so fast I truly can not wait for our next class. 10/10 you won’t regret picking her. :)

Christy is very good. Very patient with my daughter who, because of her ADHD is often very distracted. My daughter loves her and is always looking forward to working with her. She helped my daughter with her school performance include what to wear and posture etc.

Christy is a great teacher!  My son learns a lot and really has benefited from Christy’s knowledge, skill and enthusiasm.  This is Joseph’s second year with Christy and we couldn’t be more pleased.

She's fantastic and I'm looking forward to our next lesson.

Since our first contact we hit it off pretty good! Today my daughter had her first class and Christy was so sweet and good with her! We totally enjoyed it; looking forward to the rest and more! :)
