All lessons are catered to the individual's needs and goals! We can go over the very beginning steps for the first time you pick up the clarinet all the way to refining your college audition. Clarinet history and terminology will be incorporated in lessons as the student is ready for it. Music theory will be incorporated for older students as they become ready to digest it and observe the bigger picture. Composition and arranging can be part of the learning experience if students express interest.

About Heather

If you are interested in learning the clarinet, you've come to the right place! I've loved the clarinet since I first laid eyes on it and love teaching and performing. Whether you're just learning your first notes or getting ready for a solo performance, we can work together to make practicing fun

Music is a gift for everyone to enjoy and it deserves nothing less than your best effort – my philosophy:
My goal is to provide quality musical instruction in a positive and supportive environment, for my students to achieve a degree of technical facility appropriate to their personal musical goals, and to find joy and interest in the process of learning and practicing. I will always be supportive of a student’s musical journey and personal enrichment, but ultimately their success and fulfillment will depend on their individual efforts in lessons and individual practice. While technical improvement is a primary focus of lessons, above all, I want the process of music making to be an enjoyable and positive experience! I believe music lessons should be enriching for the mind and body and never detrimental or negative.

About Will

Hello! My name is Will - I have been playing the violin for 17+ years and have been playing professionally in regional orchestras since 2012. I am passionate about music and and want to help others improve their playing and find joy through the violin!

Michelle is a wonderful teacher! She is patient and motivating, and helped me to set specific goals that advanced my classical guitar playing. I now have 4-5 pieces under my fingers that are so much fun for me to play and also taught me new techniques.

Dr. Chaz is a very knowledgeable and patient instructor. He is an incredibly adept musician. He can identify what exactly you need improvement on and provides the most helpful advice on how to attain that improvement. I have studied music (flute) for 10 years with numerous teachers and band/orchestra directors, all very skilled and incredible themselves, but I never received clearer instruction than with Dr. Chaz. He explained concepts that many young musicians (like myself) struggle with and he beautifully portrays the relationship between theory, practice, and performance. Additionally, I appreciate his emphasis on ensuring vocal health and meditation- meditating pitches so that one can internalize the pitches to sing them more accurately. I was planning to remain his student for as long as I could but due to personal health and scheduling reasons, I had to discontinue and hope to return soon. I 150% recommend taking his lessons. Get ready to learn so much and expand as a musician!
Mark
Really great vocal teacher. He's very patient to his students. He goes on all the topics about singing. He's really good at helping his students prepare for a song. He doesn't waste time on any unnecessary practice. He teaches his students how to practice at home. I learned a lot of singing terms from him as well. Overall, I think he's a great vocal coach.

There were so many concepts that I knew a little about, but Adam helped fill in the gaps of knowledge and familiarized me with the concepts so well, that I could teach them myself! He is patient, humorous, and a complete joy to take lessons from."

"Personable, talented, time efficient, prompt and communicative. I'm so incredibly happy we found Moa and she keeps exceeding expectations.
My 8 yr old daughter looks forward to her lessons and complains that they aren't longer. Also we really love that Moa encourages singing development while engaging the guitar.
The other instructors we tried were good, but they still are nowhere near the teaching prowess and energy of Moa."

He made learning fun, emphasized learning by ear and developing muscle memory, and is also a kind hearted, warm person whom will leave more of an impression than just some knowledge. I would definitely recommend Gordon for those seeking to begin their musical journeys!"

"Having a wonderful time learning with Maria. I'm returning to the piano after a 20+ year hiatus, and after a couple months reacquainting my self with the piano I found Take Lessons. I chose Maria based on her experience and background. I'm excited to change not only my touch on the piano, but also in my approach to learning a new piece of music. Maria is very thorough in helping me dissect the music so I fully understand not just which keys to press, but how make music out of it. Thanks Maria!!"
