Cartooning

I always liked drawing as far as I can remember.  I took up doodling while earning my engineering degree in college.  After graduation,  I started my career at Ford Motor Co. but I never gave up my interest in cartooning.  I found a syndicated cartoonist ,Ken Muse who was teaching at a Macomb Community College in Warren Michigan.  I studied with him for many years and started getting published in magazines and local commercial ads.  I was featured in his book, “ The Total Cartoonist” as one of 16 professional cartoonist.  I published my own book , “ Secular Humorism” in 1987. 
I have always found ways to include cartoons in my work and presentations.  I look forward in sharing what I learned from the old masters to new students.

I am a published cartoonist and caricature artist and have taught both adult education and community college classes.
My process is to help you create the characters, the situation and the punchline to get the laugh.  Learn how to develop your own style through progressive lessons and practice.  You will be exposed to various types of drawing techniques to get a professional result.

Here is a walkthrough of taking a student's cartoon and deconstructing it into  all of the important elements and eliminating the redundant ones.  Then redrawning the cartoon using the student's original art and adding elements where needed.
