    I am a patient, caring teacher with NYS certification in music education and many years of experience in private instruction and in the public schools. Lessons are individualized for each student. You will learn basic technique, theory, and repertoire, and then you will focus on the music you want to learn. We'll work together to make the lessons fun and interesting. Teaching is a way for me to share my love of music. My goal is to see my students learn, progress, and perform on their own. I teach all styles, ages, and ability levels, and specialize in popular, Broadway, jazz and rock. I am qualified to prepare you for NYSSMA, levels I - VI, and can also prepare you for high school, college, and theater auditions. No matter what your musical goal, we can achieve it together. If you are a mile or two outside of my travel area, you can contact me. Depending on your location, I may be able to come for lessons. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Jon is an excellent piano teacher, and my two sons adore him. He has the patience to teach young children and instills the joy of music. He is particularly proficient in music theory and is recommended for those who want to play their favorite songs on their own.

    Jon was very patient with me as a beginner with never having learned how to read music before or play any instruments. I learned a lot which gave me confidence to continue with my lessons.
