Sound More Like a Native Speaker of English

I can help you adapt your accent or dialect for an acting role or for business/professional purposes. “Accent reduction” is sort of a misnomer because what we’re really doing is learning a different accent; I prefer the term "accent modification." We all have accents! But I can help you code-switch between your habitual dialect and one that you feel is more suitable for your situation. I have worked with speakers from Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Poland, France, India, Italy, and more. The work we do together can give you more confidence and a greater sense of ease when you speak, knowing that you can be heard and understood.

I am an actor, comedian, speech & dialect coach, and acting teacher. I had steady freelance teaching and coaching jobs for 3 years in NYC, as well as steady acting work in NYC and Chicago theatre for several years. I moved to LA from Cambridge, MA, where I earned my MFA in Acting from the American Repertory Theater Institute at Harvard. I am still an active performer in comedy, theatre, film, and TV. I have coached privately and for theatre productions ranging from world-premieres to revivals of Pinter plays to musicals. I've directed Shakespeare and new plays, I've been a dramaturg, and I've coached auditions at levels ranging from school plays to professional work. I actively coach actors all over LA--and, now, around the country via video. I love working with actors of all experience levels, but I also enjoy working with non-performers who are looking to feel more confident in their voice and speech skills.

Classes with Erin have been great. Erin has been teaching me how to do a British accent. She's very thorough, patient, supportive, and has made the learning process so much fun.
