Hello. If you want to learn to play and understand piano and music,... I can help you! I teach, play and compose a variety of styles, such as pop, rock, blues, classical, jazz, and new-age music. I can show you how to listen to a recording and to play it without written music. Also, I can teach you to read a lead sheet/fake book/chord chart or the grand staff for piano. I can teach you simple or fancy chords/scales/songs. I have played keyboard and or piano for the "Diana Ross Show Review", "Beatlemania" and various notable restaurants/clubs in Pittsburgh, Pa. I studied music at Duquesne University and studied privately with Frank Cunimondo for Jazz improvisation. I enjoy helping students learn to play the piano and understand music. We will have a good time. I can teach you the fundamentals and beyond and help you pursue all of your musical goals. Please listen to my CD, "Spaces With Time". I hope you enjoy it. Ready to play? Bennie Dervin is the best piano player, composer, teacher, and all around musician EVER!! His expertise transcends all barriers. I have featured his music in my Hollywood TV series, and people from LA and all over the world rave to me about his phenomenal skills. He works hard at everything he does, going the extra mile. I have played Piano and/or Keyboards for the "Diana Ross Show Review", "Beatlemania" and with bands or solo at various notable restaurant/clubs in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, including the Grand Concourse. I studied music at Duquesne University and studied privately with Frank Cunimondo for Jazz improvisation. I toured with the Pinoy show band (a Top 40 Las Vegas-style revue band). I played Piano, created and played the string arrangements for multi-keyboards and synthesizers. I learned every part by ear and transcribed to lead sheet/chord charts.
