Hi, thank you for stopping by my profile! My name is Lucas and I teach the violin! 


Who Do I Teach?
Currently, I run a private studio of my own for students in and around the Orlando area and many online students from all over the country. I'm happy to teach students, young and old (it's never too late to start!). I have a wide range of people that I teach, whether it be younger students who need help with school orchestra music, intermediate or advanced students working on challenging technique or repertoire for auditions, or even people who have always wanted to learn for fun but have never had the time. 

What Are Lessons Like?
Students can choose from 30-minute, 45-minute, or one-hour lessons. I recommend one lesson per week, though some students prefer bi-monthly lessons. I'm happy to work with you and whatever is possible in your schedule!

My lessons generally consist of technique work (we usually start our lesson with whatever scale we've been working on that week), followed by an etude and finally the repertoire, however this may vary depending on the student's goals for our lessons. For me, the most important thing about my lessons is that the student is learning while having fun and is never afraid to ask questions. 

I usually use a bit of a hybrid teaching method, incorporating Suzuki, Essential Elements, and etude books (usually Wohlfahrt or Kreutzer). If the student has a specific request for a song or piece that they've always wanted to learn, I'm more than happy work that into the lessons!

A Little About Me:
I've been playing violin since I was 11 years old and currently hold two degrees. A Bachelor's degree from Florida State University and a Master's degree from DePaul University in Chicago - both are degrees in Violin Performance. I began violin in the public school system in Tallahassee, FL and eventually began taking lessons privately with an emphasis in the Suzuki Method. 

These days I serve as 1st Violinist for the Classern String Quartet, as well as perform with the Space Coast Symphony. Please let me know if you have any questions! I'm happy to help with very serious students wanting to make a career in music as well as those who have always been interested in learning the violin for fun. I'm here to help you!

Learning to play the violin doesn't have to be a task. I believe conquering a musical instrument is as much about love as it is dedication. I wouldn't be where I am today without the love and support of my teachers throughout the years. With my teaching, I intend to instill great technical facility as well as a love and respect for the instrument. (Students must provide their own violin)

Lucas is an amazing teacher and i'm quite happy he teaches me. (He's also really funny!)

Lucas is a fantastic teacher.  He's very engaging with my daughter and she really feels comfortable talking with him and playing for him.  I love that he is easy-going, yet really informative.  Very happy we get to work with him!

My son had a great introduction to his violin for his first lesson.  Lucas was warm, encouraging, and very positive in his feedback.  He already can't wait for his next lesson!

He's so great!! My kids are really enjoying their lessons with him and I can see their improvement each week!!

First lessons were amazing!! One lesson each for my son and daughter. Such a warm and friendly teacher, with the right mix of technique, fun, and learning! We feel so lucky to have found him!

My lesson was super helpful! I feel that with Lucas' guidance my pieces have reached the next level of artistry and skill. I feel more than ready for my competitions this weekend.

This lesson was great! We went over my audition pieces in the form of a mock audition and then drilled everything afterward. I received excellent feedback from Lucas, and I know I will do my best in my audition. Thank you!

Lucas is a great teacher! I had an excellent lesson with him. He helped me prepare for an upcoming audition. Lucas is very attentive to detail and helped me take my pieces to the next level. I played Country Dance by C.M. Von Weber, and Concerto in a minor, 2nd mov. by Antonio Vivaldi, and I was able to greatly improve in just an hour!
