I'm a trained Musician (Private Lessons) and have been Studying & Teaching for over 37 years. I've taught, Recorded & Played everywhere from small to Large venues from NJ, NY to CA and back, so you get all that culture and experience in every Lesson you take. I'm a Teacher, Educator, & Coach for all students. All Lessons are done at UBG Music School, located in North Brunswick, NJ which I am the Owner and Head Teacher at the School, musicschool (UBG). I recommend 45 to 60 minute weekly lessons, I do offer Lessons through Google meet, & Zoom as well, if for some reason it's more convenient for you. I've taught all over the Country and the world, from Montana to Florida, from North Carolina to California, from Canada to Dubai, from Korea, India to Bahrain. All Lessons are Designed for the Student to help them reach their goals, but they are based on my approach of training you to be a professional musician. I Guarantee you'll learn more studying with me in 3 months, then you will with anyone else in a year. I Pride myself in giving my student 100% my undivided attention in every Lesson. I appreciate it if you could give me your full information when signing up for lesson, I do not share your information with anyone, it's only for my records. The School is equipped with a Class A Recording Studio (which I incorporate into the Lessons), so you get a Great Lessons, and you'll also get the experience of working and being recorded in our Studio. You will learn a lot in a very short period of time, but you will also have a lot fun doing it as well. For the person interested in learning Guitar I'll teach you to Understand the importance of Developing correctly (the first time), and Much Faster By always practicing on the Acoustic Guitar. Then if you'd like to go and play or perform on the Electric Guitar, you'll be 100% Better as a Musician (Player) than if you just practiced, or played on the Electric Guitar. That is one of the Key element to what all the Professionals Musicians like myself do. I do recommend 60 minute lessons done on a weekly bases because you'll get so much more out of the lesson. when you're studying with me I'm available 24/7 for support, if you have any question. I offer video's of what you should be practicing to make it easier for the student.
I have a 24 hour Cancellation policy, if I'm not notified within 24 hours of your lesson I will accept payment.

I am Trained Musician, all through Private Lessons from other Trained Musicians. I've been Training & Studying for 37 years, and I'm constantly working on improving every aspect of my Education so my Teaching Skills get better. I'm committed to being the best Teacher I can be to make the students experience fun and educational at the same time. I do all of my Lessons in my Class A Recording Studio so I can Incorporate it into the Lesson. This way it's much more then just a Lesson, it's the whole experience.

I'm Schooled through all Private lessons by many teachers and I have formulated my skills of teaching through a combination of rearranging what I've learned, to give it a more common sense approach to music and music theory. It's extremely important that the student have a clear overview, and maintains a organized perspective on how you Should think first, then apply it to the Instrument. One of the most important things is to keep the student inspired to reach their goals, keep it fun, but also help them to push beyond what they thought they could never achieve. I'm the Head Instructor for all the Lessons: Guitar/Singing/Songwriting/Bass/Drums & much more.

Anyone can just learn Chords or Songs buy just Practicing, even though you may be wrong and not know why. But to be Trained and develop the Correct way is 100% Faster, and help to eliminate any obstacles that you would encounter otherwise. You also would have a complete understanding of what you're doing, How it all works, and why. I've Been teaching for over 37 years, & I Teach all ages from 8 years old and up, and all levels from Beginners to Advanced. My Goal is to help the student to have a clear understanding of how to view Music & the Instrument that which they chose to play, and in the process keeping them Inspired and having fun. You will learn the correct way, from the beginning, and rise above all expectations of what you thought you could achieve. I liked learning the classic, healthy way of singing that he teaches. I would love to see James engage as a teacher more, as I felt like much of the beginning lessons were just an info dump, which could be accomplished in a premade video. That way the lessons would be more valuable.
I Learned how to do warmups, and after just a few weeks, began increasing my range. 
When my life slows down, I wouldn't mind scheduling more sessions to sharpen what Ive already learned.

After three decades of self learning guitar I decided to look for a teacher. I was so fortunate to connect with Jimmy. I would consider myself an intermediate guitar player, having challenges to go to the next level. Jimmy is awesome. With his own method, he is able to retrain my skills: from being accurate to the metronome, to learning the scales the right way. His explanations on music theory are helping me to connect the dots (finally!). I'm not only enjoying more playing guitar, but also listening to music and understanding what the artist is doing. Jimmy Ruperto is a wonderful guitar coach.  I was referred to him by a personal friend who is now very, very good and I don't believe it took much time for him to excel.  Now that I'm a few months in working with Jimmy, I find him to be very thoughtful, organized, professional and able to pace our lessons to match my (lack of) skills and experience.  He'd be great for beginners as well as seasoned guitar players.  Very well structured lesson plan that is actually teaching me to play the instrument, not just a few songs that I would like to play.  One day I expect to be able to play any song with the knowledge I gain from my time with Jimmy.  5 star rating is well earned so far!!  Highly recommended!!

I signed up with James to improve my speaking voice and avoid losing voice due to long meetings.  His unique voice training and warm up exercises have given me immediate respite and hope that I can be loud and confident in meetings.  He makes the sessions informative and humorous.

I explained to Jimmy what I know after many years of guitar playing experience, and that I want to learn to play properly and that is exactly what I think he is teaching me.

I am glad that i found jimmy as my first vocal teacher. He changed the whole way I used to see or practice singing. If you're thinking about taking his lessons, don't think just go for it.

Here is a simple approach to playing 3 chords that go together and are used in a million songs.
They are played in order meaning The G (is the 1st Chord) the C is (the 2nd chord) and the D is (the 3rd chord).
But they also can be played in any order, that depends on the song. I would practice playing them individually and the try to play them one after another by strumming each chord 4 times. Usually playing the chords themself are not to hard for most people, what most struggle with is transitioning from one chord to the next. Just keep practicing them you will get it.
