In this lesson you'll learn how simple, repeatable patterns make music much nicer to listen to, which explains why so many people hate jazz. At the end, you'll watch me make a melody and share it with our community, "The Society of Music Makers".

This is the second lesson in a little online course I made for beginners who want to learn how to make music, write melodies, make beats, etc. Follow along this tutorial to make songs for free with these easy tools, even before you learn what a DAW is.

You don't need an instrument or any music theory. At the end of this course, you'll be able to create your own beats and melodies using Song Maker or Wimbo. The last lesson ties everything we learned to a popular DAW called Logic Pro.

Arrangement and Composition

I've been playing piano and making music for more than 20 years. I've taught music for 10+ years. I'm obsessed with finding better and more enjoyable ways for people to learn music. 

I founded and directed a music school and am now focused on building tools that allow anyone to make and learn music on their phones and tablets. 

My main mission with my students is for them to gain musical independence so they can pick up any instrument or music app and have fun with it. They can listen to a song and understand what's happening behind the scenes. Music becomes a language they understand and appreciate in a level they never thought possible.
