Currently have many different music students, where each week we assess their strengths that fulfill their ultimate potential, through activities and diverse learning concepts.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe that all musicians have the abilities to fulfill their ultimate potential; by assessing students learning styles, accessing community resources and just having fun learning musical concepts.
Curriculum examples that I would utilize for piano would be Adventures in Piano and Succeeding at the Piano. For the vocal students I utilize Exceptional Musicianship, created by Hal Leonard for accurate vocal techniques.
Within 3 months the students will have opportunities to demonstrate their musical abilities. I will provide opportunities for students to demonstrate musical expertise through recitals and other events.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Main Room: electric keyboard (full 88 keys), couch, TV, and a chair, book cases, parents can sit in the lesson (encouraged)

*** Travel Equipment ***
The expectation is that the students must have access to a piano and audio equipment for their success.

*** Specialties ***
The musical genres I'm an expert include Broadway, Show Choir, Faith-Based, Classical, Jazz, Pop, Performing Arts, Acting, Staging, Costuming, Props. I believe that students need to have access with various musical styles that will aid their musical abilities.

Andrew has been a key part of our worship team at Faith Community Church for over 10 years. He is always a delight to work with and is able to connect with others on a positive personal level.

Andrew's skill level is unmatched and when you couple that with his heart for music and people, his enthusiasm is contagious. If you spend anytime with Andrew, be prepared to catch his passion.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing Andrew's work with special needs individuals and can attest that he has patience and the skills necessary to teach anybody the wealth of knowledge that he has. He is a very generous, patient, and wholesome individual who appears to live for music. He has a very good voice and great skill with the piano.

I have also experienced one of Andrews recital's. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was one of the impressive performances that I have seen in a long time. They had so much attention to detail that everyone even received a golden ticket! I wish my music lessons were was exciting and fun as Andrews.

I have a self taught singer for a long time until I found Andrew on take lessons and I couldn't be more glad that I did. Andrew came off as warm as a person but also talented and all rounded as a musician. He isn't grounded to teaching broadway or theater but approaches singing in a wholesome and interesting manner. Although we have only been working for a little over a month now Andrew has always been very supportive since day and I'm slowly starting to learn how to like how my voice sounds. Andrew would make sure my voice is properly warmed up at the beginning of every single lesson and his lessons tackle/pinpoint exactly what needed to be worked on in regard to my strengths/weaknesses. Also, I've never had any problems on scheduling with Andrew. He'd always find time for his students and try to make it work for whoever has a busy a schedule. Andrew is an amazing singer who has total control of his voice and would floor you with the things that he can do with his instrument and he's even better as a teacher who doesn't mind sharing his knowledge with you. He has total control of his instrument and isn't afraid to share his knowledge with you. If you're looking to improve yourself as a pop/rock/rnb or just about anything, Andrew would be a great choice for you.

Kerri S.

Goddard, KS

About Kerri

I'm an extremely positive and motivated person who thoroughly enjoys sharing her gift and knowledge with other people. I have a Performer's Certificate, a Masters of Music and a Bachelors of Music in
Vocal Performance. I have been teaching voice lessons for seven years and currently run a private studio out of my home in Goddard, KS (West Wichita). As much as I love teaching, I also truly enjoy performing on stage. I am currently a member of the Wichita Grand Opera Chorus, and recently performed in their productions of Otello and Le Nozze di Figaro. I have also performed other professional roles such as Belle/Chorus in The Forum Theater's production of A Christmas Carol. Throughout my various degrees, I have also performed roles in Hansel and Gretel, Bastienund Bastienne, Dido and Aeneas, DieZauberflöte, The Lonley Empress, Les Contes d'Hoffman, Dangerous Liasons, Ariadne auf Naxosand Eric Hermansen's Soul.  I began teaching voice lessons during my vocal pedagogy class, while getting my Masters Degree. I have been teaching consistently for a total of seven years. I began teaching for a community school for the arts in Muncie, IN. After I graduated with my Masters Degree, I taught
lessons for a children's theater company in Manitowoc, WI until I started my Performer's Certificate. I taught for another community arts school during my Performer's Certificate in DeKalb, IL. After that, I began a private studio out of my home and have been teaching privately at my in-home studio ever since. I also have experience teaching Music Theory and Ear Training, Music Appreciation and Private Voice Lessons at the college level as an Adjunct Professor at Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL. I have always loved and enjoyed teaching! It has probably been one of the most rewarding experiences
of my life and I am always eager to welcome new students of all ages!

*** Lesson Details ***
I teach classical technique that can be applied to any type or genre of music. I usually start with standard singing and breathing techniques. Then I will listen to a student's voice and determine their range and pick out a solo song based on their range, ability level, and the preferences of the student. I am a firm believer that no student fits into the standard "box" of teaching. Therefore, I tailor my teaching style to match the individual needs, issues, and goals of a particular student. It is very important to me that students enjoy their lessons and feel engaged in the learning process. My biggest rule is that they need to have fun and enjoy what they are doing. I am a very kind, up-beat and friendly teacher that believes in positive reinforcement and constructive criticism. I encourage my students to communicate with
me on an equal level and to always ask questions if they don't understand something. Watching people learn and grow as singers, and knowing that you had a hand in it, is probably one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher. It is this ideal that fuels my need to teach others.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have set aside a complete room in my house for my teaching studio. I have a Baldwin spinet, a Manhasset music stand, a wide library of music and a sofa for students and their parents to sit on.

*** Travel Equipment ***
In travelling to student's homes, I would expect students to have access to a piano or keyboard with at least 65 keys.

*** Specialties ***
Opera and musical theater.
