Vocal Vocabulary Part 2

Only one lesson in and I can already tell Grace enjoys what she does and is extremely knowledgeable. She was a master at easing the nerves of someone like me who has never done anything like this before. I can’t wait for the next lesson!

Grace is an outstanding vocal instructor. Having trained in other disciplines in the past, I know the value of fundamentals and practice. Grace began our training with fundamentals, which were explanations of the anatomy of the voice, and how each part plays a crucial component in the quality of the tone that we project. From there, we worked on exercises that target each of the components of the voice. This was very basic, yet very difficult, and also absolutely necessary. Without these fundamentals, we cannot aspire to ever to anything well, and I have learned the hard way that the instrument of the voice is quite fragile. So, take care of yours and find an instructor who will start with fundamentals. Grace is exemplary in this. Beyond being an excellent instructor, Grace is very kind, enouraging, attentive, and engaging. She will fill your lesson with a lesson and she will not let you "off" easily. She has high expectations and she is very gracious with her compliments for your efforts. I feel very fortunate to have found Grace as my vocal instructor and I hope that in a few years she will have helped me become the new Steve Perry (although at my age that's going to be difficult--actually were I 30 years younger, that would be a difficult one.). I highly recommend Grace. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, I have not doubt you will see the benefits. I have now had two lessons with her, and I already see dramatic changes.
