Music is made to be shared, because its real power comes from the interaction between the artist and the audience. As a guitar teacher in the Tucker, Georgia area, it has always been my goal to provide students with the means and knowledge to participate in that powerful tradition. Of course, I love performing, recording, and writing music, but my experience as an educator has been just as rewarding. Few experiences are as uniquely satisfying as teaching a seven year old to play 'Beat It', or teaching a retired construction worker how to play 'Hotel California,' and seeing a sense of accomplishment wash over them. The ideals that allow music students to achieve, which I call 'The Three D's': Determination, Dedication, and Discipline, are applicable to any area of study, and it has always been my desire to help students carry these ideals over into any other areas they might wish to pursue. I love opening paths for my students to experience the power of music, which is really the power to communicate, and I love the feeling of accomplishment in a students face when they finally conquer that tricky scale pattern, or chord exchange.

Music is a universal language, which allows the artist to express the entire range of human emotion without saying a word, and to create a cathartic experience for the listener. That's the power I try to offer each student, and that's the reason I love teaching.
