Music has been an integral part of my world, playing a major role in both my personal and professional life. I embrace the chance to be immersed in it, to share my enthusiasm for and expertise in the area of the music education experience, promoting creative development and student performance skills.

I am an original New Yorker, but have lived in Virginia Beach for the past 12 years. I began studying piano at the age of 8 and have not stopped playing since. It is a gift and a joy to be able to share my love of music performance with people of all ages and abilities. I have also sung in many choirs in addition to performing professionally on the piano and the guitar, both as a soloist and ensemble member.

I rejoice in the success that I see in my students as they learn and gain appreciation for the gift of music. They become more and more eager to share and more and more open to the possibilities ahead.

I would consider myself a lifelong student of the humanities. I have been in continuous study of piano, voice and the performing arts since I was 4 years old. Growing up in a very musically enthusiastic house I had all the support from the beginning with my endeavors. During my years at Emory & Henry College I studied all aspects of the arts while achieving a degree in Musical Theatre. I have had the privilege to be able to perform for President Bill Clinton, Pope John Paul II, and many Broadway stars such as Evalyn Baron (Les Miserables) and director John Giampetro. I have also traveled to South Korea where I spent about 15 months teaching English, theatre and music to a vast amount of students ranging from the age of 3 to 50+. In my post undergraduate studies I have partaken in conservatory classes at the Shakespeare Theatre and Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C. I can show you how & why music works in an easy to understand way, & make it possible for you to continue on your own musical journey well equipped. I have taught all ages & styles of music on many instruments for many decades & never tire of sharing the joy of playing & understanding a musical instrument.

I love music and I love to teach! My first experiences with music instruction were incredibly positive and since then I have wanted to pass that experience on to others. I have spent four years teaching privately with great success. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching to pair with my Bachelor's of Music in Music Education. Hello, I am a professional musician with over 21 years of service as a military bandsmen. I’ve been stationed all over the world and have had the privilege to perform in some of the greatest concert halls. I love to work with students of all ages and can teach beginning-intermediate piano, and beginning-advanced flute. Prior to joining the military, I taught general music in the Texas Public School system. I have a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Texas at Arlington.
