Dance with Uriah B.

My name is Uriah. I'm a Portland native, dancer, writer, and explorer. I began dancing at 11 years old, while in attendance at da Vinci Arts Middle School. By the time I turned 13, I had discovered my love for dance and knew that it would be a part of my life for as long as I live. I then attended Jefferson High School where I trained in ballet, modern, jazz and improv dance. I was on a pre-professional company for 3 years, and had the honor of leading several classes of my peers when my teachers were absent. While still on said company, I choreographed a Modern dance piece, and have returned once a year since then to stage a piece. After high school I began freelancing; performing with a contemporary dance collective, choreographing, and now offering private lessons! I also work as a nanny. I love working with kids- especially in an artistically up-building setting- and it would delight me to help anyone with interest to bridge the gap between technique and passion, until they are one!
