I have been involved with cue sports since 1997 and have played in many leagues and tournaments. I have learned from the likes of Alex Pagulayan, Earl Strickland, and Karen Corr among many others. My time teaching students started in 2017 when I finally decided to get certified through the Professional Billiards Instructors Association as an instructor. Since that time I have had many students come to me for help with their ability from a young as 8 and as old as 83. I tailor my sessions to the students ability to soak up the knowledge I am trying to impart without overloading them. Learning environment: it is best to have a learning environment that allows the student to be as relaxed as possible without distraction from the lesson. As a result I only teach from my home table and have multiple recording devices for the lesson (videos provided for clarification and further study on the students time outside of the lesson). Equipment: if the student does not have their own cue yet, I have a few extras that they can use; however, in my opinion, it is best that the student have their own cue as familiarity with ones equipment tends to bring a relaxed feeling when playing.

Matt is an incredible. He is extremely professional and knowledgable. He offers customized support and meets his students where they are at but ultimately helping them to progress as a player. His studio is comfortable and supports one-on-one learning. I'll keep coming back!

    PBIA

The PBIA is associated with the Billiard Congress of America and as a result has each of their prospective instructors undergo evaluation of their own playing ability as well as their ability to teach the principles they themselves use in order to ensure the instructors they allow under their name know what they are talking about and that they can convey those principles to others.
