I am knowledgeable in a variety of drum set techniques, such as:
Matched and Traditional grips
German, American, and French grips
The Moeller technique
Heel up, Heel down, and Hybrid bass drum techniques
Each student will learn how to set
up and properly tune their drums, as well as a variety of tips and tricks I have picked up over the years for gear set up and maintenance.
I like to teach positive physical habits while playing the drums. I focus on correct postural habits, light stretching, and hand warm-ups/cool-downs to avoid these issues and keep everyone healthy!
I also teach basic musical notation reading and transcription skills to all of my students. More advanced skills such as sight reading and chart writing/reading can be taught upon request.
