    About Laurel M.

Fun, warm, very experienced teacher of film and stage work. For over fifteen years, I've served as a lead teacher for Tony award winning and nationally recognized professional regional theaters. I created the first movie making class for the Seattle Children's Theater, and I've taught acting, writing and improvisation for 'kids' up to aged 80. I have won several awards for my scripts, as well as a short film I wrote and directed, and am a member of the Writer's Guild of America, West, in Los Angeles. I believe the deepest learning happens when students are having fun AND feel challenged. I work to ensure that all of my classes and private lessons are fun and engaging, so that students forget it's a "lesson," and instead, jump in with their full creative self. Street Cred: I earned my MFA in Film from UCLA, and also have a BFA in Theater Arts from the conservatory program at Southern Methodist University. I'd love to share my experience and the joy that this work brings!
