Folkloric Dancing with Kathryn D.

Kathryn, also known as KD, started in gymnastics at the age of three and competed from ages eight to eighteen. In 2006, she began coaching the sport along with competing and has continued coaching ages 3-18. She started social salsa dancing for in 2009 and two years later started performing and traveling to congresses. KD has competed at the World Latin Dance Cup in Miami multiple times, this past year with Evalucien Dance. Most recently she dances with the Adrian y Anita World Team Project ladies styling team (Anita’s Ladies Time), directed and choreographed by five-time world champion Anita Santos Rubin. She is in charge of conditioning exercises to help the ladies on the team improve their technique. KD has taken master classes, and workshops, from some big names in salsa, such as Anita Santos Rubin, Gisele Ponce, Alien Ramirez, Eddie Torres, Adolfo Indacochea, and Adrian Rodrigo Carbajal. As a part of Colorado New Style Dance Studio, she hopes to share her knowledge of strength, flexibility and technique with others who wish to improve their dancing, whether for competitive purposes or personal goals.
