I'm not but 18 years old, but I've got an expansive knowledge of street dance styles: Animation, traditional popping, hip-hop, and krumping. I tend not to lean towards dance studios with street styles due to the lack of originality that comes from a lot of studio based hip-hop dancers. Also, many times, the learning of the styles from simple 8-counts makes execution of the style look choppy and unnatural. Dance theory tends not to be a topic made important in large classes as well. This often doesn't help the student develop new ideas to expand their style or boost creativity. None of these will be problems with learning from a street-born street dancer. I've been dancing for a tad until 10 years and have taught several people choreography as well as basic moves to get them started. Alright, that's all for now. Thank you very much and God bless you.
