I have served as educator of music (piano-Latin percussion) and foreign/second languages abroad as well as the continental USA for more than twenty years. As a music teacher, I emphasize "making music", and only use notation to assist the learner in "recalling/retaining" what he/she has learned". Learners are shown how to arrange popular ballads in jazz or Latin style. As a language teacher (Spanish/Portuguese), I focus on "the development of conversational skills.
