Lesson Details

FUN and More FUN can be expected with the background of Kindermusik and Homeschooling! Bonnie has learned that students best respond to learning if the environment is FUN and engaging. Through homeschooling and her years of teaching background, your students can expect LOTS of PATIENCE because Bonnie relates to each student and how they learn best on an individual level. Every student has a different way they learn, and Bonnie quickly tunes in to their way of learning.

About

Bonnie grew up in a household that loved JAZZ! Her mom and dad took her to famous big band concerts such as, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman.....to name a few. This valuable experience left her with the conclusion that music is FUN!

She started piano at age 4, and oboe in the 8th grade. In High School, she played in the jazz band and won the best soloist award. She also performed in the local symphony orchestra, then on to college. Throughout college, she played in the Tampa Orchestra. After ... her masters, she played with Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

All along the way, she was teaching private students, and then began homeschooling her own children. She also became a certified Kindermusik teacher, which emphasized even more her love of making music FUN!

In 2003, Bonnie created "Pop Goes the Oboe," which features the oboe and English horn exploring various titles of pop, Latin, and jazz styled music, as well as original compositions.

Having performed and toured as a professional musician for many years, Bonnie is conservatory trained and has received awards and distinctions as a jazz, pop, and classical artist. Though she has served as an oboist with such acclaimed ensembles as the Detroit Symphony, Pittsburgh Chamber Symphony, and Florida Orchestra, her passions favor the pop music styles.
