The unique beach vibe of Huntington Beach serves as a great backdrop for all your creative endeavors, and it is also a great place to find a wide variety of venues that cater to beginners as well as advanced players. Check out all these valuable resources at your disposal in Huntington Beach!

1. The Street Fair (held weekly on Tuesdays from 5-9pm) Every Tuesday is the weekly Huntington Beach street fair. It is located in the heart of downtown Huntington Beach and is a great starting place to get to know all the local talent. It is an all-ages, family-friendly event, which hosts all kinds of attractions, such as vendors, farmer’s markets, and street performers. I’ve seen all skill levels perform at these events, making the Huntington Beach Street Fair my first suggestion when checking out the area for inspiration, as it is most likely to have something for everyone.

2. Gallagher’s Pub & Grill Also located in downtown Huntington Beach, Gallagher’s is a great spot to check out all the up-and-coming local talent while enjoying some authentic Irish food and beverages. Gallagher’s hosts a room capacity of about 100 people with a small corner stage, which contributes to its more intimate vibe. It serves as a great venue for local acoustic and solo acts looking to break into the music scene, and it has hosted some pretty big names who have gone on to do great things in the business. 3. Killarney’s Pub & Grill Located on Main St. in Huntington Beach is Killarney’s Pub and Grill, host of some great live cover bands on Sunday nights. If you want to have a great time and dance to some live top 40 hits, then you’ve found the right place. I’ve been lucky enough to see some of the best guitarists in the city play here, and I’m never short of amazed by the talent that Killarney’s hosts. Every time I check out the live shows here, I always discover new musicians to network with and learn from, which consistently helps contribute to my journey on the instrument.

Huntington Beach is truly a great place to learn how to play guitar. The mellow beach vibe helps contribute to a relaxed, encouraging learning environment, while the local music scene serves as great inspiration to excel at your chosen instrument. The proof is in the pudding, and the list of world renowned artists from Huntington Beach continues to grow by the year, contributing to an already robust collection of bands who reside in the Surf City Capital.
