Study viola, violin, or theory with an experienced and passionate musician!

I want to help you reach your goals on viola, violin, or music theory! Any age or goal is welcome. I will help you develop greater instrumental technique, focusing on both ability and fluency! I also want to help you cultivate your own artistry, in a way which is true to you as a person. We express something very deep when playing our instruments, and I will help students to realize that. Of course, instrumental ability is central to communicating that message as clearly as possible, and I will work on technique with students with their artistic objective in mind. While prioritizing helping you to improve and meet your goals on the instrument, I also believe that people make music most beautifully when they are communicating a love and passion for the music to their listeners—for that reason, I believe in always making sure that learning music is a joyous experience. Music is a process of constantly learning: I would love to be a part of your musical journey!

    About Jeremy K.

Hi! I’m Jeremy and I’m a musician in the New York area. I graduated from Juilliard with a Bachelor of Music degree and am currently studying for my Master of Music degree there. I’ve performed at music festivals including Aspen, Bad Leonfelden, Bowdoin, Norfolk, Rome and Vivace; performed as a concerto soloist with orchestras in Italy and Ukraine; given solo recitals in the US and internationally; performed with various chamber ensembles and orchestras; played in bands in pop, folk, jazz, and klezmer concerts; and been fortunate to enjoy many other experiences. My goal as a performer is always to share the beauty, expression, and joy of making music with audiences. My goal as a teacher is to do the same with my students! As a teacher, in addition to the all-important task of sharing the joyfulness and meaningfulness of music-making, I want to help every student cultivate their own artistry. I work with students of all ages and goals, whether that’s to prepare for auditions for music schools, start a new hobby, or anywhere in between. I believe in working in detail on the technique and mechanics of making music, and will help students develop facility, fluidity, and ease of playing on their instrument. For me, better technique is always used to serve the broader artistic message, and I always want to help students communicate their musical vision expressively and effectively through their instrument. I’m excited to get to know you and to be a part of your musical journey!
