Learn English from a Top Certified Instructor

I have been teaching English since 2010. Although I have resided in the United States for years and my accent has changed a little (sounds more like an native speaker), I sometimes play with my accents and embrace the the mix cultures here. In my ESL class, I encourage students to speak out, and to appreciate their accents and their multi-cultural backgrounds. Speaking English with an accent is bravery. That's part of your identity. Having multi-cultural backgrounds means you are unique and you can bring that uniqueness in your writing and discussions. And think about that, you can speak language(s) other than English, you are very special! Hence, in my class, I am very willing to help students build their confidence and strengths in their English learning. I am not a native English speaker and my English is not perfect, but I see myself as a multi-competent teacher. Over the years of language teaching experience as a teacher and learning experience (I can speak five languages) as a multi-linguistic learner, I believe I can help you achieve your goal under our mutual effort. I have a lot to share with you!

I am certified to teach in both China and the United States. - I started teaching Mandarin Chinese online since 2017. Before I became a full time Mandarin teacher (K-8) at a school in Arizona in 2019, I taught special forces Chinese part time. - I have been teaching ESL students (mostly middle school and high school students) Reading and Writing (includes rhetorical devices) since 2009. For Mandarin Chinese class, I can help you with HSK, AAPPL and ACTFL tests. HSK is required if you are interested studying in China one day. AAPPL is a test for K-12 students, while ACTFL is a test that's required for any person who's interested working for military or national departments in the United States. For example, I took OPI Mandarin and I acquired Superior level before I could teach special forces Mandarin. For English related subjects (ESL, Reading, Writing), I can help you with academic school work and TOEFL test. From my education background, you will see I have met with the qualifications of being an English teacher! I got my B.A. in English Literature from a prestigious university in China (Henan University ranked TOP 5 in English subject the year before I attended). I acquired my teaching license in English subject after I graduated from college. In 2016, with multiple scholarships, I came to U.S.A. to pursue my further study in English. As the only nonnative English speaker, I got my M.F.A. in Creative Writing from University of New Hampshire. I got a full time teaching job in the states after I graduated.
